Alignment in Greenville Area
I'm installing some TSW springs and H-Sport control arms this weekend (in addition to my camber plates) and will be needing an alignment in the next few days. Does anyone have a suggestion of where I can get a good 4-wheel alignment in the Greenville (or Anderson), SC area?
There's also Piedmont Tire, in of course, Piedmont on Hwy 86 Also right off I-85. I had my VW Golf aligned there. Hot Rod does great work. He's also aligned several friend's cars.
They also mount and balance all of my tires.
Hot Rod Lamance (sp?) is their alignment guy. You must call ahead and make an appointment for alignment, as Hot Rod isn't always there.
Even though I had to work, so the point is mute, I would have loved to help install your suspension!

Side note: if you work on your car, don't leave the hatch open. Even though it makes a nice shelf to store things (perfect height when rear is on jack stands) it will kill your battery and you will need to have your roommate come jump you off after several hours. Ask me how I know
.
Yeah, I forgot about HotRod. He has done work for me too.
You mean your lights didn't cut off after twenty mins? Plus, I have had my key in the "on" spot for about fours hrs, listening to the radio while working and no dead batt. Is that a new feature on the newer models? (ie. '05, '06)

My lights normally cut off, for some reason I had a dead battery yesterday. We had to charge the car for a good 30-45 minutes before it had enough voltage to start.

Maybe you can come supervise when I do mine (no, I have no idea when I'll be able to yet). I'd really like that! I've done several suspensions in the past, including my Audi (multi-link suspension), so I think I'll be OK. However, I've had trouble with the top strut nut in the past.
I did a little work in my interior a few weeks ago and learned that you could reach in and push the dome light to turn it off while the doors were open. The odd part (at least for me) was that the lights operated normally afterwards. It was nice not having to switch it off and then forgetting to switch it back on BEFORE being in the dark the next evening
HotRod's a great guy, but usually a man of few words (unless you get him to talking about MoPars). He's definitely one of the best in the Upstate when it comes to properly aligning a car. He did a 'performance alignment' for a friend of mine in his VR6 GTI (he let him sit in the seat when he did the alignment). Try that in a run-of-the-mill alignment shop! Not gonna' happen!
