It is a great time. Smokey Mountain MINI's puts on a great little drive. As to what lady could "dress as"......

Dressing up MINIs would be a blast! I dunno about these "dark and dangerous twisties through the mountains" might be too scary for me but maybe I could do it with other Upstate motoring buddies for support.

From the previous events I can see that the restaurant to start from is in Gatlinburg...what road(s) make up the Boo Run afterwards?

ARTSJCW Aug 13, 2008 03:19 PM

It varies from year to year but the drive is not aggressive at all. It is fun and they work hard to keep everyone together. I've only been one time and am not sure the drive is the same every year but I am certain it will be very safe -- and nothing like Midnight on the Dragon. Another enjoyable period is the time after dinner and before the drive, the MINI's all drive through the main drag in Gatlinburg in a police escorted parade. I really would love to go again and have some members of our club go as well. The fall in Gatiliburg is beautiful and the town has a lot going on.

October 25 sounds good.. so i take it we are spending the night? :sly:

ARTSJCW Aug 13, 2008 03:55 PM

Yes!!! Hopefully several if possible :) Perhaps we could even convince Sue and her entourage to travel with us, especially since we are spending the night...

onamshn Aug 13, 2008 04:41 PM

Floyd and Sharon will definitely be in on this one!!! (which means we'll keep October 11th as our date for our fall foliage run). Gatlinburg is even in our neck of the state! Yahoo:nod:

Looks like a great time, but I'll be at the Dragon. You guys post pics, please?

lilruffcat Aug 14, 2008 03:42 AM

Dave... you will be so close to Gatlinburg you will be able to hear Luke :sly:

Is there a Dragon run the same weekend??:eek2:

comet5o4 Aug 14, 2008 07:35 AM

I love Halloween! I'm going to try to make this!

Grammarous Aug 14, 2008 08:55 AM

Sounds very fun, but I didn't see any other info...

ARTSJCW Aug 14, 2008 08:57 AM

Lady, I am not aware of a Dragon Run, but that may be a Tarheel function. I'll try to check their website, or ask Dave to make certain. However, the Boo Run is very, very much fun as well. Ben I am very glad you are coming as well. Perhaps that will entice Ms. Sue. Also it may entice your competition and chaperons  It will definitely be good to see you again and finally see these new mods in person.

mellotron Aug 14, 2008 10:38 AM

Grammarous, if you go to the link in the 1st post, and scroll down below the pictures, they've put links to the past Boo Runs...I assume that this year will be similar and they'll post more details as they become finalized.

I hope we can go. We would need to spend the night and make sure we can afford the trip, etc. Also I am supposed to leave the 26th to go to OK so it depends if I can get a flight that isn't too early.

ARTSJCW Aug 14, 2008 01:12 PM

Mellotron
You are correct:nod: I just got an email from Queen B and they are working to make arrangements and let everyone know details asap -- she said to keep checking the site. I am hoping you get a late flight as well so you guys can go:thumbsup:

I wonder if there are doggie friendly hotels there?

ARTSJCW Aug 14, 2008 01:55 PM

I sure hope so, cause my Maverick is going with me :). I am fairly certain there are but will check and let you know. Hopefully we can all stay in the same place....

LadyGodiva Aug 14, 2008 02:02 PM

KEWL, thanks Art!

BLUCOOPR Aug 14, 2008 04:51 PM

o.k. I think I am going to have to do this Boo thing in the BLUCOOPR maybe with a broom sticking out the tail pipe or something? As for the Dragon we just had too many people go there and get tickets, so I will do the Dragon but only on Monday or Tuesday any other day and your just asking for a ticket. I went this past spring and stayed off of it after tuesday and it was great. The BOO Run sounds more up our way.

ARTSJCW Aug 14, 2008 04:53 PM

YEAH!!!! I've been scoping out hotels in the area. They are fairly full -- I guess it is the leaf thing. However, there are still rooms. Do you think I should pick a place, call and ask for a block of rooms or anything, or just leave it up to the individual?

LadyGodiva Aug 14, 2008 05:25 PM

Oh I just thought of it! Lady G could be a brown bear!

get it? bear...bare?

Getting a block might be a good idea, given the prime "leaf peeping" season. Though this year, I'm thinking the foliage might be over early due to the extreme drought.
