5'th Annual MINI Boo Run - Gatlinburg, TN -- Anyone up for a Road Trip
i just got a 04 mcs and i was wanting to get involved in some of these activities. me and my wife are curious as to how we can do that. it would be great to get out on a little adventure. the only thing that sucks is i am in jacksonville, nc and its a bit of ways from all the places you all visit, but thats not much of a big deal. its another excuse to drive the mini that much more.

Please come and join in the fun. Some of us are going early, so you could make it a vacation if you'd like. There is always something going on and perhaps we could make a motoring trip to your neck of the woods someday soon. Congratulations on your new baby!! Check our our new website M2C2.US

just signed up as a member, i am hoping to go to a meet and greet soon depending on work. but i am definetly planning on going to this boo run. my wife britton is wanting to go aswell. im not so sure about dressing up the car tho. and i have never been to an outing like this so maybe a little fill-in to what i might need or any past experiences would be awesome.
Hey Subject
That is GREAT news. We look forward to meeting you and Britton. I have actually only been once and really didn't know what I was getting in to. You don't have to decorate your car...I didn't the first time. Some people come in costume, others don't, some decorate the car, others don't. There is nothing really that you need to bring except an expectation to have a great time with other MINI nuts. I think that since none of us are members of Smokey Mountain MINIS per say, and they have done a lot of work to organize the event, they may ask for a small donation or something for the CD, shirts or something. However, I am not sure.
In the past the event has started with a gathering at the restaurant before dinner, dinner, a police escorted parade down the main drag in Gatlinburg. After that we gather and proceed on a dark run that includes some twisties that is supplemented by a special timed CD to enhance the experience. The drive is not too fast nor scary, just a lot of fun. At least this was my experience. The Smokey Mountain MINI group is so much fun and they are very hospitable. If you guys do come early, there is always a lot to do in Gatlinburg....

I'm going Saturday from Asheville, so I can meet up with y'all on I-40!
Hey Lady G, I figure to get off at exit 27 then take US 19 to the BRP then to US 441 up to Gatlinburg. Since you know that area can you find a place to meet off the 40. I will print up my plan and we can go over it this weekend.
Hey all, I'm trimming the costume approach to just the back of MINICHI, that way it'll stay intact at any speed and not obstruct my newfound "bear vision" requirement. ;-)
It won't be quite as cool as my original intent, but it'll work...

Bear Vision?
I don't know about Bear Vision, but I have installed a Bear Deterrent which may double as a Halloween costume.

That way you won't be confronted by any wild bears like the one pictured below.

Hmmm.... I did some looking around, and there's a hotel right in downtown just across the river that I'm looking at staying. It's called Riverhouse at the Park... Looks to be very rustic, something you would imagine in a cottage, almost a honeymoon place... But I don't think it is...
