MINI's in the Mountains, Copper Mtn Colorado

Once again, the Mini5280.org will be hosting Mini's in the Mountains August 6-10, 2008. While attending AMVIV I taked with numerous members and they would like to see a whole lot of Carolina MINI's. This will be the 3rd Annual event and will take some planning and probably some vacation time. I can assure you its well worth the trip. This year they are going to have a whole day drive and dinner out on the road. Also they have other rides that take you thru the mountains and passes and little towns. This along with the Mt Evans run, day or night or both 14,264 highest paved road in North America, I didn't say widest road, hightest with no guard rails. Night run if weather is clear you can see more stars than knocked out prize fighter! Weather is good ususally maybe a little rain, but temps great. If we get enough interest we will go back thru Colorado Springs, Co and do Pikes Peak, 14,110 part paved part gravel but very wide and no gaurd rails. Put this on you calendar and see if we can't get a convoy going. 1st year was 2 of us and last year we had 4 Minis. Please let me know if you think you would be interested in this. More details available at MINI5280.org Luke:thumbsup:

Barring something I can't predict, MINIRee (Marie) and DrkTower (Paul) will each be driving and carrying a relief driver, so count us in for 2 MINIs and 4 people.

Thank you Shelly, hows the weather out in Denver today? Last I saw it was snowing again. We had 2 days of Car Show at Lowes Motorspeedway here in Charlotte and it was rainey and cold! Keep us posted on the Copper Mtn events etc. Luke

Hi Shelly
It was finally nice to meet you at AMVIV. See you made it home and so did we. I don't know if I will make this. I may fly in and have someone come get me. I forget someone from there told me they would pick me up and take me back to the airport. I may just take them up on it. I am not a good long distance driver. When it gets closer I will confirm.

Trace... Im not such a good long distance driver either.. but I bet between you and I.. and Sharon we could make this a fun lil convoy.. Consider it.. we will take care of you!! We could find someone to go as an extra driver to switch out..!!

Hi Trace! Let me know if you need help with a ride to/from the airport! I'd be glad to help. I see you posted some photos from Vegas. I'm blocked here at work from looking at them but can't wait to check them out later! It was nice finally meeting you too!!!
Keep in touch! :)
