Well, I decided to go out driving the other day on a road that was recommended to me by a fellow MINI enthusiast, and found it to be quite the drive.

Round trip from Asheville, it's roughly 2 hours time and 80 miles. I won't give away the road just yet, but there are several mountains involved with non-stop switch-backs up and down. The plan is to meet on a sunny day, I did it in the rain and not a good idea, and then take this road up to Hot Springs for a late lunch.

UPDATE: THE DRIVE WILL BE ON THE 8TH OF MARCH. DIRECTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

We will meet at the Ingles on Patton Ave in Asheville (7 New Leicester Hwy) at 11:00am. I know for several of you it will be a drive just to get to Asheville, so I didn't want to have the meeting too early. We'll start on our journey between 11:30 and 12:00. From there we will take NC-63 to NC-209 to Hot Springs, eat lunch, and then come back US-25/70 and NC-251. I have a pdf file of the route if anyone wants it emailed to them, gemme your email address. :-)

CANCELLED DUE TO SNOW, THE RALLY WILL BE MOVED TO THE 26TH OF APRIL.

as far as I know for now, we can do either weekend.. unless my hunny does something for valentines day weekend.. let us know!

 

I'm not reliable, b/c there's always too much going on, and I'm running a 5K on March 8th, so that's out for me...so...if it's the 8th, count me out, and the 16th is a maybe for me.

Thanks to you and Richard for organizing some runs, these cars are made to be DRIVEN!

Yeh, there is a lot in Feb that's going on. Let's plan on going in March then. I'm looking for an alternate route from Hot Springs back to Asheville, we can either go back on 25/70 and I-26 if you guys are tired of twistys by then or we can take Riverside, which follows the French Broad back to Asheville. But we can decide that later. Lemme get the course mapped out and I will post it up here.

 

O.K. I m in for march run. I think this is what our club needs, if you can make it fine if not try the next one. We are really moving forward, thanks Ben for a job well done,. March 8th would be best because the 15th will be a Quarterly Meeting in Columbia SC hosted by Lilruffcat our Columbia VP. If the 8th is good with you let us know Luke
