N14 Custom Exhaust Manifold

I’ve been looking for a long-tube header as my next upgrade. All I can find are a couple from Italy —- Scara73. RPM Canada is developing one but it’s only available as part of their stage 4 upgrade which includes a turbo, external waste gate, oil filter housing relocation, and maybe even the down pipe —- way too big a package for me, and last I checked, it was still a prototype —- not available.

I’m hoping to find somebody in the USA that has one already designed to fit the ’07 R56 engine compartment. There’s always a local shop that says they can build one, but they need the car for a month or so to “tailor” a fabrication. I can’t live with that. It doesn’t need to be designed for “twin scroll”, the turbo will have a built-in waste gate, the flange ports will need to be slightly enlarged to match the head ports (which I can do), the turbo needs to be mounted near the top rather than below all the tubes —- to ensure oil drainage, and the turbo flange might need to be an option (I haven't yet ordered the turbo).

So far, the Scara73 Kit 350 can be made to satisfy these requirements. Is this the only source?

I’d definitely be interested if you can someone to make it. I know I can talk MWMWMWM into 3 to go with his 3 cars.
Surely we can find someone on here with a 3D printer to make a rough prototype.

Couple months ago I found this outfit on FB --- TRUST Performance and Motorsport - SAS Auto Customs. Unfortunately, they're located in the UK, but they seem to be willing to build a manifold to fit my needs. With a bit more discussion, Scara73 declined to fab one with a twin scroll T4 flange, so they're out of the consideration. Yes, since my original post, I've decided to go with a twin scroll, and I believe the T4 turbo flange will provide maximum air flow, compared to a V-band or T25. The attached pic shows a V-band flange and plumbing for an external WG --- their "off-the-shelf" production. For a few extra $$$ and another month to fab, my options can be met. Still a couple weeks before I place an order --- time to collect all the good and bad info available on this outfit and my plans.

So, brothers and sisters, what say you???

Have you reached out to Mario about the new RPM kit?
I just re-read the first post.

I don't know for sure, but it looks like it's a collab project with GP Garage (Italy). I'm not a fan of the intake manifold but the exhaust looks nice.

To use the GP Garage version, I'd need to work with them to build a true "twin-scroll" outlet --- cylinders 1 & 4 paired and 2 & 3 paired, then add a T4 flange, and separate the manifold from their package. Looks like their current build has the desired pairs on opposite corners, which is great for their Garrett 2860R. It looks like a good package, reasonably priced too, but so far, I'm sticking with the UK outfit.

One more consideration in my choice for a custom manifold --- the turbo. Since my current Garrett GTX2860R is max'd out, I've been looking at the specs for Garretts new G25-660 --- https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing...eries-g25-660/ , the one with an internal WG. That's where my T4 flange choice came from. As I'm getting closer to making a buy, I find the T4 option hasn't been released yet, at least it's "not available yet" according to a couple "authorized" Garrett distributors. Neither was my 2nd choice, the V-band option. So, after a nasty-gram to Garretts customer service, I get an email from another distributor who claims to have the V-band option in stock. Never got an explanation why other dealers say it's not available.

Back to the header --- since the V-band turbo option is available and no date for the T4, I've decided to go with Scara73's header, the one similar to their kit 350. It'll be a custom build but only because of the flange. I chose Scara73 over the Trust version because of the material used for tubes --- Scara73 uses 310S while Trust uses 304L. It's my understanding that 310S is the preferred choice of the two.

Anyhow, both are on order --- 3 - 4 weeks for the header and maybe 1 week for the turbo. Installation and dyno results will be posted in my build (re-build) thread --- https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ec-2018-a.html
