Battle Tuning - 2nd Gen R5x Challenge Splitter

Here at Battle Tuning, we want to not only provide tunes for our clients, but we also want to expand what we currently offer. We can provide all the OEM parts if asked, suspensions, performance, you name it, we can provide it.

But part of my involvement with DNA provides a bit more of an advantage than others, which allows us access to various Challenge items. We are contemplating on bring over the Challenge Splitter to America and possibly making them in a proper carbon fiber finish. Before we get really involved in this, we want to reach out and gauge users' interest in this.

Obviously you will need a JCW front bumper so that should be an incentive to update your body kit. Will it fit N18 is possibly something that may arise on this quest, so we'll work to accommodate N18 owners as well.

Thoughts? Comments?

I like this idea and have wanted one (the challenge splitter), however the ~$1,200 price tag is pretty steep (and I can't imagine what that would cost in carbon fiber )

We understand this, and the price you've seen was probably the only non Challenge dealer accessible to the products, hence why they charge an arm and a leg for individuals to buy it.

We haven't figured pricing yet, but it won't be $1,200

This is something that DNA and I have talked about and which is why we want to get NAM users' feelings on this. Surprisingly, MINI Challenge parts are harder to source than BMW Challenge parts, but we're trying to change that.

I believe they are about £250 in the UK.

You are most certainly around the ballpark George. But they're spec to race cars and are not finished in the same way, so modification and manufacturing would have to fix those issues related to fitment and finishing in carbon fiber

So true, that's why I'm getting the JCW front. Really don't want my only option to be the NM carbon fiber lip.

I'd rather do the challenge splitter than some of the other options out there. +1

+2 if you make something happen sooner than later :-)

I'm interested in it. Should reinforce aero gains from the GP2 belly pan and rear diffuser and underbody aero panels I'm going to add as well.

We'll see what we can do. The Challenge MINIs use different set of splitters made to be thrashed and destroyed compared to the "consumer" version. The "consumer" version is made from the same material as your wheel arches.

Whereas the Challenge splitter is FRP. We'll see what we can do.

I have a Challenge Splitter in non-Carbon finish coming from the UK. 2-3 weeks is the expected delivery time. We will be testing the fit on ra2fanatic's MINI to ensure fitment quality and make any adjustments we see fit.

We will also need a N18 to fit this to...

The CF work will commence afterwards. Possibly bring back the stock finish as well if the demand is high enough...

I'm interested in another splitter alternative with easy install. I'm currently looking at installing the chin from a roadster to my hardtop for a little extra lip.

Something special came in today...

We intend to make this in FRP and Carbon Fiber. The Carbon version will likely be a limited version while the FRP will continue to be made. Development starts soon....

Subcribed . I'm very interested. I was about to install a home made splitter but I always loved the mini challenge splitter. I would like mine in the same material as the plastic fender arches. Keep us posted once it's ready for sale and price as well.

FRP or Carbon, we won't be making it in the same plastic arches.

I'm thinking the FRP. I beat the nose of my car off the ground too much for carbon

Standing in line behind Zippy this is sharp! .......this could be instead of the M7SPEED splitter I am currently considering.

Oops,....I'm just an N14, 2010. Oh well,...still cool looking.

What does the N14 have to do with it?
