The MINI E is not dead...yet!

I'm reviving this old forum just to let you know that the MINI E still exists! I just test-drove one and signed up for a two-year lease on #072 with 7,500 miles on the clock, we take delivery in a week or two once the car is prepped and the paperwork is ready. It is all part of the Vehicle to Grid project run by the University of Delaware. It looks like I am the first private citizen to lease a MINI E in over 3 years, so this should be interesting. Here's the link to the program, unfortunately looks like you have to live in Delaware, so lucky me!

I'll post pictures after we get the car. Anyone else going to be able to do this?

I'm a big fan of electric cars, keep us posted, if you don't mind me asking ... How much will the lease be? Just out curiosity thanks

They are leasing out the Minis for $300 a month, which includes all maintenance done by a BMW engineer who designed the car. Vehicle to grid incentives should return $100-$150 per month back, depending on how much it is plugged in. No mileage limit - it gets crushed after this last science experiment! Oh, and you have to pay for the charging station, which you keep and can charge any J1772 car.

Nice, thanks that's a fair deal. Enjoy
