Cheap/easy mods?

Hello all! Does anyone have ideas for cheap and easy mods for an R53? Somethin more visual, I wanna stand out and I'm not really worried about performance quite yet. So far I just put some 6000k HIDs in, since a headlight went out and I decided I might as well go a little more blue. Contemplating painting the stock tow hook a more vibrant color and keeping it in the front hole in the lower grill. If you could even post links to other threads that would be awesome. I'm a college kid on a college budget, so I can't go out and buy a new exhaust or other performance goodies quite yet Thanks!

Welcome! I used to go to high school in the Pen Argyl area– Roseto to be exact. As for the Mini? You could consider doing some good roof graphics. Pretty cheap, and not too many cars can pull it off like the Mini can. Most colors I would suggest blacking out the chrome, but I think its a great look on the BRG. Not a fan of the 6K headlights, they're a little glaring for other drivers.

I had decalboy.com do my roof decal. Custom put together using different ones he had listed and then modifying it some to get what I wanted. Art's good to deal with and very reasonable on price.
Also performance company stickers are cool if you like that look, even if you haven't made to mod yet... Wheel paint, easy ways to do it and keep the tires free of overspray. Painted brake calipers, detailing the motor, exhaust tips. Even making some of your own parts, and watching the members sale area for some good deals on used parts. Not everything has to be new or high dollar to add to the look and function. Have fun...

If you want to do a visual mod on the inside and you're not using the rear seats you can make a decent rear seat delete for around $20

Thanks guys!

tremperj, I graduated from PAHS in May 2012, goin to NCC right now, still livin in Plainfield Township. I get around a lot so I put both towns I'm usually in. Nobody has ever heard of Plainfield, since it's the forgotten township with no postal code, haha.

I actually had an idea for the roof, using some black, gunmetal grey, and lime green plasti dip to do a sort of pinstriping squared around the roof leading up to the sunroof, keeping the white in there also. A very long process tho, haha. The inspiration for those colors came from having the grey rims already and I feel little lime green touches would look nice on the BRG. And I also like the chrome on the BRG, I feel like it goes very nicely compared to other colors.

As for stickers, I rock the look on my jeep but I'm not too sure how it would go on the mini. I'm still debating that. Plus with window tint going on in the future I'd rather leave the area clean in case it messes with them laying the film on and cutting it to fit.

And for the headlights, I haven't been high beamed yet and I stood out in front like 30ft away and it wasn't blinding. I've seen some guys put HIDs in their halogen housings, ouch. I'm glad I had the factory setup, cuz all it took were 2 bulbs and a little bit of time to get that hint blue light I've always wanted, still pretty bright too!

I'll have to check out what people have for sale, and I'll think up some ideas for stuff I can make. Considering the one ball exhaust mod next, but I'm not too sure how I'd like it. I also want to plasti dip the tail lights, since my one is all hazed up and I don't feel like buying another one yet, haha. Plus I like the look, just gotta see if it would be too dark, I like my back end not smashed in. Does anyone know why the tail lights get like that? I noticed it's the driver side more often than the other.
