MINI Bike jersey???
 

I've been searching for a MINI bike jersey and have had no luck so far.
I see a bunch of MINIs while I'm riding and I always wave. They of course have no idea why I'm waving but usually wave back. I'd like to show my MINI pride while I ride. :nod:

Anybody ever seen one around? Do we have any avid bikers on this forum?

I like bicycles. I'm more of the beach biker type. My new ride is an Electra Super Deluxe. Although it's only a three speed We did some 25+ miles of hills in Acadia National Park.

I've been contemplating a MINI cycling kit myself. Jersey and bibs, both.

I ride a jamis trilogy road bike and a K2 Proflex on the trails.

I'll see if I can find a blank jersey.

Since MINI now offers bikes (http://www.minicooperbicycle.com/index_en.html), maybe they will come up with a proper cycling jersey too?

I'm an old guy, but I still ride. I have a 2007 Jamis Xenith SL roadbike (all Dura Ace 7900 and FSA). Its made many a trip on the roof of the Mini (great bike, BTW).

Nice. I've got the MINI FINI rack on mine and it's been really awesome. I'm about to take my first long distance trip with it (to the dealer).
The dealer said they can service my car just fine with the rack on but won't be able to do the car wash afterwards. :p

Still no luck on the bike jersey yet. :(

A MINI jersey would be pretty neat. I would also be interested in one.

I'd love a jersey.

But I have to share my experience with using the Mini top rack with a Thule mount. Its easy to do and the result is solid. But there is a whole lot of wind noise and, to my mind, a lot of drag in putting he bike on top. It cost me about 4 to 6 mpg on a recent trip, and you can sure feel it with side winds. And I did put a Thule "spoiler" on the front rack to try to smooth the arflow

If I had it to do over again. I'd sure look into something that put the bike on the back of the car using a trailer hitchmount and bike carrier rather than to put the bike on top.

But, I've spent my money, so I have to live with the result. Be sure that I'm still looking at alternatives. I'm pretty well convinced that I may add a Thule top box and knock the bike down till it fits inside. For sure, for any future long trips, I'll be setting the front wheel flat on its side on the rack rather than to have it sticking up into the air stream. I'll also pull the seat post, and perhaps even the handlebars to try to reduce the drag coefficent.

The Mini seems to be a natural bike car and I love mine in that role, but there sure needs to be be something better for hauling bikes than our current choices.

I'd love to see anyone else's adaptations.

I was just thinking of the same thing yesterday, for some reason, while riding the Vancouver/Whistler Granfondo. For anybody interested in a 75 mile ride along some of the most scenic terain imaginable check it out . They're, taking registration for next Sept within a couple of weeks.

If you make your own, you could use both MINI Bikes and cars like this one I whipped up for you...

This would be amazing! I ride a Felt F90 and then at the skateparks a Premium Guttershark. Also got a sweet yakima rack to haul it all around, both bike have been on the roof traveling from Dallas, TX to Charleston, SC and then to Chicago, IL with not a problem.

I'd LOVE a bicycle jersey, too!!!

Glad to see this thread revived. I'm also hopeful that MINI will license its logos for bike apparel and accessories.

I'm a week away from taking delivery on my first mini, a 2011 Cooper S. I've thought a lot about a roof rack (either Thule or OEM) but (a) I don't carry the bike all that frequently, usually ride from home and I don't like the thought of wind noise all the time, and (b) the roof rack isn't all that easy on and off from what I hear, and (c) there isn't a hitch yet for the 2011 MCS.

So I'm thinking about a strap-on (haha) for the back of the hatch that'd carry 2 bikes. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd want one that won't screw up the back of the mini and also may be adaptable to the wife's Honda occasionally.

And by the way, a MINI kit (jersey and bib) would be awesome. I'd definitely jump on that wagon.

I'd love a mini bike jersey! I'm looking at a hitch for my countryman. Anybody tried the caboose hitch? I'm assuming then I could choose a thule bike rack to fit the hitch?

Right now I am wearing a "retro" CCCP jersey, http://www.ecyclingstore.com/media/c...russian_lg.jpg I figure since my one bike is a 1980 Rossin (I think the Soviet Olympic Road Team used them), I can wear the jersey, sort of like war reenactment, somebody has to wear the uniform of the "enemy". Since I ride in rural areas in Central Illinois, I am waiting for the day when some patriot runs me over for wearing this commie uniform! It is pretty cool and bright. Of course if I wear a Mini jersey, that may still give some redneck another reason to run me over--I am riding a bike and I drive a Mini--double jeopardy!

Hey Miniscool, I have the match to your Rossin hanging on my garage ceiling -- full Campy SuperRecord from 1976. 7-11 Team used them, too. Mine is silver.

Still trying to decide on Rack, I want a Roof Rack, but the Bikes won't be on it, so I'm trying to decide which Hatch Rack would work best and not mar Molly's Paint...any suggestions?? :popcorn:
