Weird, it worked earlier and redirected me to the store link.

P.S. - my American Flag badges have been ordered! Look the the left in MINIxB's collection picture for a glimpse. There is a British flag two badges over to the right (yellow border) from that one which I also sent her, but it's a bit rough and I'm not sure its as likeable. I'll have some of the badges up for trade and the rest for sale to the first takers on the list.

I've been making my own badges for a couple weeks.
I think they are an awesome and easy way to junk (spice) up the car a little bit. also but down some custom cut bonnet and boot stripes. I put the badges on the boot stripes.

Looks like some magnetic sheet s from **** blick, some weatherproof or vinyl, laser, or inkjet paper, and 3" hole saw would be all that is needed to make any kind of custom badge you'd ever like to have. I have a pretty good laminator I can use if it would really need it for a nice gloss finish I suppose. anybody making their own creations this way?

ended up with some avery weatherproof laser paper # 5524, a couple feet of magnetic sign material from local sign shop-(got extra to do some rear stone guards around rear tires) for about $8. the circular saw is ok, but it is just as easy to cut out a circle with scissors. ( I find I can cut 3 badges per beer) , no need to laminate, they come out nice. ( see image)

 

Is that not like inviting a chocolate maker to a chocolate lover's convention? Great idea for the convention, bad idea for your wallet. I kid.

 

Very Nice. I am still wrestling with creating very detailed badges that have to be viewed up close to be appreciated versus simpler badges that can convey a message at a distance or even when moving. Currently, the simple side wins, but your badges make the "frosted" side enticing.

 

I started doing some simple vector graphics for badges at first, but put on the "no tailgators" alligator and saw a couple people walking across lot to see close up.
I also cut out some "coop" stickers and the "kozik" smoking bunny. I really like the magnetic sheet stuff. Glad I didn't spend all the cashola that magnetic sheets cost from an art store. making your own badges is simple and entertaining.

 

And the collection grows to insanity. I either need a new board or an intervention:

 

What you need is to fill in some of those spots. I can still see metal behind those badges.

 

At Home Depot they sell this magnetic paint. It's real thick paint with ground metal particles in it. You can paint a wall with it then top coat it with a color. I did a huge section in my son's room amd he puts all kinds of magnetic things on it. Works great!

Think of them as therapeutic...next time you have an injury just put them all over your body like those "healing" magnets they sell on TV. Yeah, magic healing badges I tell ya. That's the ticket!

 

LOL! All I know is I think I'm starting to effect the moon's gravitational pull.

I definitely can't bring any hard drives into my garage anymore.
