A MINI and a couple of Lamborghini's!!
I want to first start of by saying I wasn't expecting these results. I happened to be traveling at the right place and right time, and had no copilot with me (she was in her car). The setting wasn't ideal, as it was right at 1pm in the afternoon 80 degree summer sun, hence the blown out colors. BUT, I was able to grab about 100 shots of the cars, about 50 really decent shots. I havent really cropped the photos too much, except to eliminate my mirrors where applicable.
The funny part of this was the Hardtop owner spotted my camera, and made damn sure I got every shot I could, and while on the highway we comminted a Smokey and the Bandit move, and his Girlfriend was hanging out the window to hand me his business card, so that I could email him the pics. Now I dont know about you, but being within 1 foot of a Lamborghini while driving on the highway, can make anyone nervous, but thankfuly we didnt rub any fenders. Enjoy the photos, all can be seen: HERE EDIT: Yellow= Murciélago, Orange= Gallardo Spyder, both BRAND NEW! And hard to get:wink: Good job:thumbsup: |
Hair-raising pics indeed. Nice job.
Now THAT'S the color orange I'd like to see on a hardtop! Sweet. |
Don't you just love the puuuuuur of a Lamborghini on the road?
|
almost the same color
as my hot orange:thumbsup:
I passed one in Canada, but all he wanted to do is race:roll: |
Awesome!
I recently shadowed a silver Gallardo in Eastern PA and can attest to how mean those things look at speed.
Spectacular pictures. |
Funny: In picture 16 of 81 of the yellow Lamborghini, the red Aztec in the background!

Those are cool pics Lee.
I like how you caught the motion. |
Ok...I feel slightly stupid and confused.
So, you were driving, and randomly happened upon these two Lamborghini's? Then, the guy in the Lamborghini saw you had a camera and asked you to take pictures of his car - which you managed to do quite well while managing driving the MINI? Then you proceeded to pass business cards while continuing driving? If so, that's a pretty hilarious story. Great pictures by the way!! |
Yes, if you look in the album, the shots where he is on the passenger side of my car, he rolled down the window, asked me to take more shots. My wife in her MINI, slowed down traffic in the middle lane while he was in lane 1, and I was in lane 3, and he proceeded to make passes on both side by speeding up and slowing down, so I could get many shots. Mind you we never stopped vehicles, but he knew I was taking pictures, saw my D200 with the grip, so it looks huge, and figured, this guy must be able to take a decent shot with his setup. Then, halfway through, he came up on my passenger side, and his girlfriend was hanging out the window with his business card, and yelled for me to email him the pics. I continued to cue him when to drive by, and back off.
The funny thing is He got on the highway where we got on, and we merged to a totally different highway, where about 1/4 mile behind, I noticed the hardtop which was ALSO brand new. Once the Gallardo Spyder driver saw the Murcielago, it was a match made, and they traveled the next 40 miles together, all with my wife and I in toe, taking pics. I couldn't have planned a better photo op! |
Was this last Saturday,by any chance?

Maybe you should've given Monica the D50 to take pictures of you doing this while she was driving her convertible.
Are you guys heading out to Monterey or any part of MTTS? (I have a pic to give you.) -Juan |
Jimz68-
Yes, this was this past Satuday Aug 5. Jaun- I didnt plan on lugging the D50 and D200, but afterwards, I know she needs to take the D50 with her. I would have much preferred to have been in 1 car, her Drop Top, and standing in the back seat getting 360 Pans! We are going to try to make it out Saturday, if all goes well to Laguna Seca. The Lamboghini owner informed me of the Concorso Italiano going on Friday, and I am hoping he may invite me as a guest, since I am giving him High Res edited shots of his car. His car was also on the cover for Modified Luxury & Exotics, June '06, and he will be in their booth at the show... I hope to catch up with you Juan, as I know you have had something for me for a while. Thanks for all the kinds words to everyone! |

These two Lambo's were very likely at the Saturday morning Santana Row gathering. If you guys/gals are in the area and like to ogle the exotics, you should come on out. The owners are all very friendly and there are some HOT cars - a few weeks ago an Enzo came out.
