The filters are here! The FILTERS are here!!

Wow, that was quick. I placed an order on Amazon (which was fulfilled by Adorama) on Tuesday and got my stuff today! Hot diggity!

In addition to a couple of other small items, I bought a B+W 3.0 neutral density filter (good for 10 f-stops, I think) and a Tiffen 0.6 graduated ND filter. I can't wait to play with these this weekend! The 3.0 ND filter is *dark*. I almost can't see through it (which will make focusing difficult, I'm sure). I want to play with some "ghost town"-type images with long exposures. The graduated filter should be good for landscape and sunset pictures (if I can ever find a good place to *take* sunset pictures. stupid midwest.).

Aw come on Brian, you guys have all them picturesque silos that'd make for cool sunset silhouettes.

I have one of those ND filters you mentioned. Yes, they are dark!

I guess I'm just spoiled (and lazy). In NY and AZ, there were lots of places you could go *nearby* that provided a better view of the sunset. Where I live, everything is flat all around me and sunsets are obscured by trees, buildings, etc. Yes, I need to make the effort to go out and find new picturesque places, but still. :-)

I'm hoping for some interesting skies this weekend; I don't know what to expect, but I'm excited to try them out! :-)

Doesn't matter, Scott, as long as they don't need to be oiled; that makes the photos all fuzzy. ;-)
