The Official RANDOM photo thread!

Testing my new Vivitar 285hv flash and Nikkor 55-200 VR lens yesterday. (Which I got for Christmas)

Crappy pan with the new lens. That car was just too quick to pan good.

And testing out the new flash and lens again. Flash fired vertically to bounce off the ceiling.
Nice, any chance of a setup shot? I assume you used plexi-glass on the base for the reflection. Did you use strobes on the sides or lamps? My cats always wind up screwing up my light boxes right after I get one good shoot out of them.
Traffic pile up
Traffic pile up, be careful not to follow to close.
Other shots from a Florida visit over Christmas (no family shots just outdoors stuph.

A few of the best from some recent shooting in Charleston, SC

It's really hard to choose the best, so I'll limit it to posting those but I suggest you check out the set on flickr. You guys need to start posting more pictures! That was my first good time out with my new Nikkor 55-200VR and I can't live without it now.

I just prepared this photo for a club competition. It's just over the hill from where I live, which made the shot possible - I got up one morning and thought to myself "self, there's some really interesting lighting this morning, let's go and take some photos".
Whoa! The lighting is breathtaking. The light rays in the upper right corner totally rock. The Australian countryside looks amazing.

Here's two recent things I have made for my friends. Shot with my d40 and wirelessly triggered flash in a makeshift studio environment. Lots of post photo processing.

not my photo but the photog isn't on here and I thought I'd share it. You're looking in the intake side of a Harley-Davidson V-Rod cylinder head after it has been ported and polished (by the guy who is doing my cylinder head)
So today I did a photoshoot for a local Class 3 (read: fully automatic) weapons dealer. It was an amazing experience, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to see these ridiculously expensive pieces of craftsmanship at work.

I am extremely excited with the results of today, those are some of the best shots. I can't get over how great some came out, I really surprised myself. So now I want to show them to as many people as I can. :-)
