The Official RANDOM photo thread!
Just returned from Road America, where I saw last weekend's ALMS and Speed World Challenge races, among others.
I spent the time experimenting with slower shutter speeds on my panning shots. I had been using 1/200 and 1/250, but I slowed it down to 1/160 and 11/125. It worked out well. My panning technique improves with each race. My goal is to get to get good shots consistently at 1/80 -- that will provide some great background blur for a really cool effect of speed.
Here's the Aston Martin DBR9 that competes in the ALMS GT1 class. They have a new livery that is beautiful. I like it much better than the British Racing Green scheme they had before. Sadly, they aren't very competitive against Corvette Racing. This is after the exit at the inside of turn 6.

Nice shots! I love Road America. Canadian Corner is the best. A friend of mine did and open wheels race there and I tagged along, last year. I wish I could go around in my Mini, now that I have one.
There are club DEs at Road America, so you can drive your MINI there if you want to. I'd like to do it someday.
Here's three random shots from the past two Monterey weekends...

Yeah maybe a little....

notice the overexposure in the sky but how nice it looks in the reflection

this one is better but it started raining so my lens was getting wet
