The Official RANDOM photo thread!
That is a very nice lense. I look forward to the pictures.
It is a great lens. It will compliment the 70-200/2.8 VR I have for panning shots. I need a longer lens to get good straight on shots into corners.
The little bit of extra throw that comes with the 300mm is a nice treat. I have shot a lot of high school crew races the last two years. The local photo store had a used Sigma 120-300 f2.8 for about a little less than the 70-200 vr Nikor that I was thinking of buying (I had rented the 70-200 three or four times). For most people the 70-200 will be more useful. I hope to add one some day, but for the times I need it renting is a good deal.
The autocross was called due to weather (lightning and 60 mph winds).
D70 with Nikor 70-200 vr f2.8 at 200mm
f10, 1/20th sec, Shutter Priority, Manuel WB, JPEG fine,
Optec rain hood, and friend with an umbrella so I could see. That is not noise in the picture it is rain.

Not in the rain this time...
D70 with Sigma 120-300 @ 300mm (about 13 lbs of camera gear hand held though after this race I went and got a monopod)
f3.5 at 1/500th sec, aperture priority, auto w/b JPEG large

Sigmas are good lenses. I had their 150/2,8 Macro and it was great, but I sold it to fund the purchase of my 70-200/2.8. I love that lens. That's one I'll never get rid of. The other one I use is a 17-55/2.8.

I really like that picture of the Golden Gate Bridge (hope I am correct). I almost always see clear day pictures. Covered in fog and that fog in particular do nice thing with the composition. The lines and light invite the eye to move around.
MotorOn, nice capture of what San Francisco is like in the summertime... brrrr!
Holy spring compression Batman!

Thanks for looking. I'm glad you enjoyed them. I'm sure that car would show some sparks in the night shots.
South Bay MINI snapshot
I think this might be Alpha Motoring's MINI.

Anyone in to Infrared?
I still love shooting Kodak HIE IR film and spending time in my secret lab (darkroom) processing the 'ol timey way.
