Cool shot Motor On. I'd be worried about catching a nice little ember on me or even worse the lens or camera. But I suppose you used a nice zoom to get that shot.

bpulley - nothing like the joy kids have when they get fireworks and bottle rockets at that. wow i miss those things, good times having bottle rocket wars, albeit a few burns and scars but good fun.

no tripod. just leaning on the banister. I could feel the people coming down the stairs. Very suprised it came out at all.
D70s with 17-55 f2.8 set to 17mm
f16 for 3 seconds (30/10), Manual Mode, Manual WB, JPEG large.

 

Wow, I can't stand still enough for 1/2 second shots, let alone 3 second ones. Nice job.

I can't stand still LOOKING at that photo for 3 seconds.

 

My tripod has sat in my closet for the last year. But I will be using my monopod again in a couple months. A friend is going to let me use his Nikkor 300/2.8 VR lens for the Petit Le Mans race this fall.

 

That is a nice shot. Sometimes you get those gems when you least expect it.
