Let's Motor to Morro Bay

How about a day trip to the Bay?

WHEN:: Sunday, Feb 26th, 2006 Meet @ 9a.m. for a 9.30(sharp!) departure. Returning later that afternoon.
WHERE: Starbucks, Shaw Ave. and Fwy 41 in front of the Ramada Inn.

We'll motor from Fresno to Morro Bay for lunch, Fish 'n Chips perhaps?? Restaurant location can be decided that day. We'll take the twistier route, Hwy 41 the entire way. Be advised, the first hour or so is pretty darn boring, but once we reach the Shandon turnoff, the road gets a little curvy for a more exciting drive.

Who's up for this? RSVP here!
Remember, all are welcome.

I would be interested. Use to live in SLO town. Not sure I can make the drive from San Jose that weekend because of work. But I'll work on that part, but the drive down there would be cool, maybe Hwy 1 for me down past Big Sur and all. Now I'm starting to drool. Hope i don't have to work that weekend.

Well, if you do come, you will have company part of the way going north on the return trip. I have to get back to Sausalito on Sunday so a nice twisty drive up hwy 1 will be nice.

Michele -
If you are traveling west on 41, when you get to Creston, take 229 south, and then back to 41. The first 5 miles of Highway 229 north of Highway 58 is a FANTASTIC MINI road - you guys will love it - trust me. Maybe I'll join you!

Central Coast Coopers 01-19-2006 01:57 PM

Well, with all those recently mods you bought, you will have to stop long enough to have them installed.:) I guess you should go to work so you can pay for them, too.

Craig,
If you can join us, it'd be great. I'll break out my good ol' Benchmark mapbook right now to scope out that road you mentioned.

Damn....not this time folks. Need to go visit girlfriends family that weekend. Maybe next time.

Scooby03 01-28-2006 09:42 PM

Michele, have you figured out the final route yet, with the changes? Or are we sticking with the one we came up with?
Tech wants to post it on the website.

Where are the half coilovers?:lol:

vivahate 01-31-2006 02:51 PM

How about this...
Enroute to Morro Bay, we take a detour from the 41 South onto road 229 South to the 58 West then back up to the 41 via Little Rock Cyn Rd. According to Craig from SCMM, it's a fun, twisty road with some nice tight curves. I checked mapquest, and there isn't a Little Rock Cyn Rd listed, but it is in my Benchmark Mapbook.
