The karting at Boomers was a success. No rain, just menacing clouds. Not too busy at 1 o'clock either. We got in 3 or 4 rounds of karting. Some members even palyed lazer tag. We had a nice dinner afterwards at Logan's Roadhouse.
All total(including kids) there were 11 of us.

Sounds like it was fun. Wish I could've joined in but I was busy hanging a new door.

I was trapped in Oakhurst with rain bombarding us :(

We had a great time! The karting was fun and entertaining. Some of the crashes were a little violent for such low speeds but nobody got hurt.:) After a few runs with different karts, you definately knew you didn't want to get stuck with some of them again; and there were some that were definitely better than the norm. We did some laser tag and the kids played a lot of the games so it was a good event for all. We went to Logan's Road House for lunch, afterwards, for beer and food, and a peanut war. I'd hate to have to clean up that place.:eek2: Blake, you missed out. I left Oakurst in a downpour but it cleared up once I got past Coarsegold. It started raining again when we were at Logan's, but we were dry the whole time while karting. I got back to Oakhurst with an inch of snow/hail on my driveway and no power or phone. Power was out for 28 hours and phone for 30 hours. P.G.& E. replaced the transformer on the pole in front of my house and said they had replaced four that day. Their crew was from Stockton and they said there were crews from all around the state repairing damage from the storm. Most of the damage was from the lightning. Anyway, I had lights and power from my solar electric system, but lack of phone kept me from the Internet for the longest time in 15 years. Now I'm back.

BUUURRRRRR... Did you have heat? Its a good thing that Porky's dosen't have peanuts anymore.
Brad

SRTech Jan 16, 2006 05:15 PM

Yes, I had heat. It was in the high 20's in the morning and low 30's in the afternoon. Thank goodness for propane heat! Other than the quivering caused by online withdrawals, I was OK. Oh, and I still had cold beer because it was about 38 degrees in the garage.

Scooby03 Jan 16, 2006 05:19 PM

No hot beer, Bad Bad, Bad....

You must've not been too bored, Steve. I figured you might've broke out the socket set and started installing some of those mods you have awaiting for install.

I was a little cold, 30-something degrees so I wimped out and stayed in where it was warm and read. I did get to slide down my hill on the snow/ice every hour or so to check the batteries.
