Do any of you know this car....
...or more important , does anyone know the previous owner? I would love to know any previous history as far as issues etc. and I would love to know if maybe by chance he/she has another key
I hate the thought of spending 160 dollars just to have a 2nd key made
I figure most of you notice just about any MINI sitting in a neighborhood or driving down the road and I believe the car was traded in locally but i may be wrong.

Go to your MINI dealer and ask them to run the VIN and contact the previous owner in regards to the second key. They SHOULD NOT give you the previous owner's name as that would be considered a privacy issue .... but I see no problem with the Dealer contacting the previous owner in your behalf.
You could also ask for a printout of past service done on the vehicle.
