Does anyone have a trusted import mechanic in Cols.?

Amy's Toyota Rav4 is leaking oil when the engine is running - does anyone know a good mechanic that's reliable and trustworthy? I figure if anyone has someone they've used I'd rather support them with my $ and enjoy less stress all at the same time, you know?

Thanks in advance!!

First off, I assumed Chuck would instantly reply to this thread and give a detailed list with all the names, numbers, and personal stories of all the mechanics/shops around town that he approves/disapproves. but I guess not yet.

Free factory warranty is a very nice thing to still have.

I would try to help you out, BUT my beloved mechanic is currently spending some time behind bars; apparently police found a rather large variety of illegal narcotics and paraphernalia stashed everywhere inside his car .

The few other local garages that I have friends/connections with are all somewhat high-end European sport car shops that would charge you a ridiculous amount to repair anything.

I hear great things about Northend Wrench on Indianola. I have not used them myself but a neighbor with a MINI, Triumph and a few others loves the shop.

Missy and I usually never have a car after the warranty is up, so all of our work is done at the dealerships.

I hate to say it but my Toyota dealership does a great job and is usually less the the free lance shops ... They were $150 dollars cheaper on the timing belt waterpump using oem parts then the freelancers using whatever parts..
Guess it comes down to the right tools and expertise ...

OK Matt, I've used Total Auto Care in Hooterville. 5599 Westerville Rd. 882-9911. Mike is a factory trained Honda mechanic, but is good with any car. He has worked on a few of my cars over the years & I'd rate him as a top notch guy. More important he's an honest fellow. Two opposable thumbs up.

I've also heard good things about the North End Wench, but I've never used her.

You are going to dumb your MINI at 50,001 miles? Say it ain't so.

I'm knocking on the door of 50,000 miles, but I've been inspired by Mark & Kim. I'm shooting for at least 150,000.

That's roughly 20,000 miles away, so by then I may be ready for an updated version.

Purple Hazel, what side of C-bus are you on? I can't believe I have a twin running around and have never seen you.

Sorry, I'm not on the forum too much. I've been going to Dave Wenger at Northend Wrench for well over 20 years. Besides himself, he has one other brilliant mechanic, Pat Albers. Dave is a Porsche and autocross guy. Having known Dave so long, he and Pat have done modifications to three of my cars, all on weekends when the shop is closed. They are taking care of the Ultralite, also on weekends. This has not been easy since it arrived with many issues and obviously without a manual! Dave is the most honest business man I have met. He will not do unnecessary work to a car and he will definitely indicate when he thinks repair to a certain vehicle is not worth the investment. If you are looking for the lowest rate in town, he would not be your man. But take comfort that only the necessary work will be done and he will stand behind it. I can't tell you how great it is to have a trustworthy mechanic who is also a friend. Andy

Matt told me he used the North End Wrench to have Amy's car fixed. He reports a good experience there.

I live near Easton but drive all over from downtown to Dublin to Grove City. I do wonder how we've never seen each other

I do not beleive that Hazel has tinted windows, or there is a third member of your club. I saw what I thought was Brian the other day then noticed the windows were not tinted. I must say the purple with silver is an attention getter!

You are correct rigidjunkie; no tints here. I also don't have a sun roof.

Wow your MINI has the perfect spec's. Just about the same as mine. Although my purple is more of a hyper blue.

I would have gotten hyper blue if I hadn't just made it under the wire for purple haze.
