British Car Show outside of Toledo

Hi all! I'm new here. I just posted this in Burning River Minis forum, but thought I'd stick it here as well.

The Lake Erie British Car Club is holding its annual event at Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, just outside of Toledo. Fort Meigs is a reconstructed fort from the War of 1812 and it is located about 5 minutes from I-75. The will be MINIs, among others "Triumphs, MGs, Austin Healeys, Jaguars, and more will be on display."

This show is on Sunday June 1st, in two days (sorry for the late notice, I didn't realize it was coming up so fast). I'm not sure if you can register your car on the day of the show, but you may still be able to get your car in the show if you want.

Here's a link: http://lakeeriebritishnews.home.att.net/LEBCC_2008.pdf

and here's a link to Fort Meigs: http://www.fortmeigs.org/

Damn...I KNEW this was coming up, and then I forgot all about it. I'd love to participate, but just don't think I can get my car ready in time now.

We went up there last year and it is a real nice show. I believe when you register you get to go through the Fort for free. Which is very cool. But unfortunately we will not be going this year. We will try to make it next year though.

Might not even be here by tomorrow...we're about to get slammed by the storms that are moving due East...train effect all the way back to western Illinois. We live in northern Miami County, above I-70, and it doesn't look good right now.

If we get thru this ok, I'm sure we'll have storm damage to clean up....

They tore out the train tracks in down town Hooterville years ago. No train is coming here. I hope!!! Stay safe & have a nice cup off hot chocolate. That will make ya feel better.

WooHooo, the storms passed us by with just a lot of rain [which we REALLY needed]!

I was able to get the Cooper done, and am now gonna attend the car show at Ft. Meigs tomorrow. Hope to see some of you there, as it's supposed to be a nice day.

Thanks. Now, all I gotta do is get up early and head on up...I need to register late...dunno if they'll let me in or not. Oh well, if not, at least the ride is nice.... Kika's the smart one...she's staying back here with the dog. I think she's a tad gunshy right now....

It was fun...nice weather, interesting people and a perfect venue for showing cars as well as learning a bit of American history. First place went to that Clubman...the first one seen in the area. All the other awards went to the '07-'08 MINIs...you know, the ones driven from the dealer's lot to the car show.

I enjoyed meeting you and your father, and really hope we get to see one another [and compete] again soon!
