BMW Loaner?
I loved the way the gold contrasted with the rust on those.
Those were fine cars & it is a real shame they were built at a time before they learned how to keep Japanese cars from rusting away. They are very rare birds today.
Two years Eric & I went to Pennsylvania to look at a 1969 Z car that was imported from Japan in 1970 by an air force officer. Right hand drive & a 2 liter 6 cly not a 2.4. A real live Fairlady Z. A very nice car & solid. How it escaped the tin worm I don't know. Eric was looking at importing it to England to use as his rally car over there. He passed on it & is running an Escort RS2000 while building a right hand drive Datsun 510 for his next rally ride.

Certain Nissan dealers had "rebuilt" 240Z's for sale with warranty in the 80's
I fell n love in Atlanta , a Dealer had one it appears they sent the cars back , they were striped down to bare metal , all parts replaced and engine/tranny rebuilt with new suspension .... I'd love to find one of those ...
There is a 2002 in Wooster thats Stock @ 20k miles absolutely no rust , well taken care of ... He has my number ...

A friend of mine had a new 1970 (first year) 240Z when I was in college. I swapped my Toyota Corolla with him whenever he wanted to haul people -- which was a lot. I loved that car and always wanted one. By the time I could afford a Z they were big, bloated 300ZX's and the original ones had mostly become victims of the rust worm. Would love to drive one now to see if they were really that good or whether other cars of the era were that bad.

The V8 conversions were horrible driving cars. I rode in one a few years ago and it understeered like crazy. The base car was really balanced and I can remember my dad getting it nice and sideways
Later he had a Vette and that car was fast straight ahead, but was never a great winding road car.

Other drivers react differently to me when I'm in my 330 convertible. I don't drive it to show off, just for the pleasure of the top down with my 2 Koko gorillas in back. But I definitely see a difference in how they react when I'm in the Clubman. Even my sister makes comments about the BMW and she knows I didn't buy it for snob appeal, but for the driving experience. She can't understand the MINI either though.
I have had the BMW for 6 years with only 5,700 miles on her because people have been mean to her if she was parked in a parking lot (and they can be with MINIs too I know!!). Someone spit on my car one time and I was only gone for 5 minutes in a pet store. A second time someone purposely dinged the door. After that I only took her to my shop where she remained covered in my parking lot (no customers means no dings).
I am not a snob by any means, but I really do feel more comfortable in the MINI world than the BMW world. I see a distinct difference in the demeanor and attitude at the Scottsdale dealership. I hate walking through the BMW zone to get to MINI's elevator. So few smiles down there.
We've had a Z3, my 330 Cci and two M3s. But the MINI is by far my favorite of all. I seem to fit into that world better.

Although not as fast as Jason's 335i, it is very very cute!!!
