New MiniManiac

Hi All,
Been reading everyones posts for the past few weeks and wanted to come out of hiding.
I decided I wanted a Mini when i took my X3 in for service and asked for a Mini as a loaner. I drove it, took it home, and told my husband I wanted this car because I felt 20 years younger. He laughed but started looking at the car and he was also hooked. Went back and forth and decided to wait for the Clubman. This decision was made when our 21 year old son said on Christmas Eve- Mom- Why do you want something smaller than the Dining Room table? He did have a point but we loved the Mini and the Clubman seemed to be the answer. It is now bigger than our dining room table.
We can't say enough about the car- it is everything and more.
Please send details about the Amish Drive. We would like to go.
We wanted to go to Minis on the Dragon but we had tickets to go to FLL on Skybus that weekend so didn't make reservations. BTW- I wanted to cancel Skybus but they cancelled us and now the only hotel you can get is 45 minutes away. Hopefully next year.
Let us know about the Amish drive and look forward to meeting all who have posted.
Gina and Rich

Sometimes the behavior and posting of our female members is quite shocking!

Yeah... right. You will never see this Silver Fox saying "pull my finger."

For our new members (taking on a quite proper tone):
Here is a list of our real names -- NAM names have been changed to protect the innocent, women and children:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=129247

And here is our glossary:

Silverback = Old Fart with a hairy back

Weedhopper = Young fart

Significance of donuts = Silverback food

LAME = Lazy A$$ MINI Enthusiast

Silver fox = the only member[s] with style and class

OT = On Topic OR Off Topic -- doesn't really matter

I thought there were multiple Silver Foxes? Carol please use caution the Silver Fox can be hard to controle and while ellusive they do sometimes run into one another.

Welcome !!!

Welcome Gina & Rich. Wow our first Clubman owners.

Here is a link to MId-Ohio Motorings very own website.

http://www.midohiomotoring.com/Index.html

I'll also put you guys on the reservation list for the Amish drive on the 19. Looking forward to meeting you.

Here's the description of the Amish lunch MINI tour.....

Amish country lunch drive.......
A LAME all organic Amish country drive for lunch & site seeing.

After our LAME club meeting & trip to Outmotoring I'm planning a back roads drive up to Amish country for a LAME lunch.

The date is April 19. That is a MINI Mornin breakfast date.

Location: We will leave from Outmotorings parking lot. Time 9:30 + or -.

COST: There is no cost other than your gas & your lunch costs.

Maximum allowed to attend: I'm going to cap this at 20 cars.

Description: We'll leave Outmotoring after breakfast & head N.E. into twisty road country. We'll see such wondrous places as Warsaw, Nellie, Blissfield, Kilbuck & Cooper's corner. We will stop in Kidron to see how the other half lives. We can try & do a group picture of MINI's in an interesting location. I have 2 in mind. Visit Lehman's Hardware & then head west to Shreve to check out the outdoor drilling equippment museum & Des Dutch Essenhaus restaurant. Mmmm From there we'll head to Nashville to see Elvis, go through Danville to say hi to Dan. From there we head to Amity & south to Mt Vermin. We'll stop at the leather shop where Allen can get leather mirror caps. Then a stop at the art gallery next door to soak up some culture before returning to Cowtown.

Thanks for the welcome. While reading past posts I did wonder if Clubman owners were allowed. The car is PW/B, non S much to my husbands dismay, premium, sport,cw, zenon and some cosmetic items. We didn't order it and there are some options that would have been nice but it basically has everything we were looking for.
Looking forward to meeting everyone at the Amish Drive
INGRFX- I did wait a few weeks before coming out of the closet for that very reason. Can I still change my mind?

Nope. Once you are "in" the Silverbacks and Weedwackers can always find you. They follow MINIs home. It's instinctual.

Speaking of that, I found a MINI owner at the dog training club tonight! She fits a Weimarinar in the back seat!

You can stop anywhere you'd like. On St Patrick's day you could have fished from your car on SR 60. The water is receding so I'd say drop a line off the Rainbow Bridge & use road apples for bait.
