Front license plate holder/bracket?!?

I'm expecting my R56 to be delivered in a few weeks, but I just remembered Ohio laws about front plates... my Mazda3 came with a nice plastic bracket in order to mount the front plates without scratching the surrounding paint (granted you had to drill holes into the front bumper in order to mount the bracket).... Does the Mini have something similar or would I have to mount it directly to the bumper?

Suggest you look at the 'no holes drilled' plate holder at gominigo.com.

I just checked the thread... actually, I wanted to keep the license plate centered on the front of the bumper (just an aesthetic quirk of mine)...

My neighbors with an 02 MCS have driven with their front plate in the glovebox from the beginning without a problem.

In Ohio the dealer will install the plate holder unless you tell them you do not want it installed. I forgot when i ordered my Mini and now have to deal with holes if I remove the plate holder :(

I run my plate on front. Me, I don't want to give them any reason to pull me over. Lots of people get away without a front plate in Ohio & lots don't. How lucky do you feel?

Now back to the OP's question. Yes you will get a nice plate holder from the dealer.

Hang i there it will come. When are you expecting delivery?

Edit... Read the first post again. A few weeks that isn't too bad. Easy for me to say.

Come on over to breakfast on the 19th. We'd love to meet you.

I'm expecting it in late April or early May... Either way, I have to drive up to Classic MINI up in Mentor, but its a great excuse to burn break-in mileage. I'll try to show up to the breakfast meetings but that's going to depend on my scheduling at work (I just got out of OSU and now I'm working for the railroad industry... which has me traveling everywhere during the training phase).

What do you do for the rail ways? I work at MORPC and we have been working with the rail industry on a few things.
