Wellzy and I are planning to leave Cleveland Wednesday after work, we are driving to Dayton. We will get up early Thursday to head the rest of the way down. Hopefully, we can meet up with some other MINI's on our way. Is anyone else planning on driving in on Thursday?

 

we are stopping in Mason Ohio then looking for people at that rest stop.

 

Am I crazy for having regular tires and no donut for a trip to NC? I have a can of Fix-O and a compressor -- and roadside assist. Do you throw in a spare for longer trips?

 

I'm not sure about the regular tires, but I know for long drives I always stop for a donut for the road, or atleast a 10 pack of Timbits.

Forget donuts... We'll get some apple fritters in Amish land this weekend. I'll freeze them and pack them for MOTD.. and give them to the AAA guys if I need help with a tire!

 

My MC already has a spare, and I just picked up a 15" MINI wheel and tire for the S. I track the S, so it's a good idea to have a spare...just in case.

What are everyone's exact plans for leaving the Columbus area?

My MINI is already in TN and about to come out of winter storage, so I will drive down there with someone and drive back to Cbus with my MINI.

If I get permission to miss 2.5 days of class, I am riding with Sean (mc40monster) and following Aaron and his wife down to the Dragon early Wednesday morning, probably leaving Columbus around 8:00-9:00 am. There might be a couple of other MINI NEO people traveling with us.

Yuriy is registered on NAM, but says he can't figure out how to post yet , and he plans to leave from Columbus Friday afternoon and wondered if anyone else plans to leave that late?

I am leaving Columbus at exactly 9AM.
I will arrive in Mason, OH at exactly 10:42 AM.
I'll strap my brother in and his bike on the top and will leave Mason at exactly 11:12 AM.
We will arrive in Townsend TN at exactly 6:04PM or 6:14Pm or 6:38 PM since we will have a wing on top.
We will commute to the Dragon Thursday afternoon and for dinner. At least.
And Friday afternoon and for dinner. At least.
The rest of the time he will be cycling and I will be hunting bear and wildflowers with my Canon.

 

We (spawn & I) are hopefully leaving CleveBurgh around 1pm on Wednesday. Later then planned but I am trying to leave before that. Arriving down there around 11 pm is not what I want, but it could happen.

I will post when we really depart in case someone is leaving Wed. afternoon and wants to meet in Cincy or whereever. My cell will be on, pm me to exchange numbers.

 

Would be nice to drive back to O-H-I-O with a group. Maybe we should start another post ---- "Departing the Dragon to OHIO"....

 

Kara and I are leaving EARLY (5:30-ish) so we can meet Paul and possibly other people from the Dayton area at the first rest-stop past the Ohio/Kentucky border at 7:30.

Since the easiest way to go is straight down 71, we'll pull off at Stringtown Rd. (the first exit south of 270 on 71) and will stop at the McDonald's there for coffee and sandwiches. We'll wait there until 6:00AM if anyone wants to caravan down with us.

Either way, we'll be at the rest stop off 71 just sough of the Kentucky border at 7:30-ish for a second hook-up opportunity. I know Paul from Dayton had a lunch stop in mind, but I'll let him choose it.

We'll also have our radios with us and will be monitoring channel 7 sub 21 if you have one. Anyone that wants our cell numbers, just drop me a PM.

My little caravan will be leaving around 9 am on Wednesday and welcome anyone to join in. I need to finalize a few details at the shop so we will leave from there at around 9am. I know of 3-5 MINI's that are planning to meet us there...

 

FYI - I edited my thread - I meant the Ohio/KENTUCKY border. Sorry.

 

We'll be joining the Great World Outmotoring HQ to Dragon Caravan. (Although it just feels wrong not meeting up at Stringtown Rd.)
