I just learned a new thing. These messages are limited to 1000 characters. So I guess I really need to practice concise...

Thanks for the quick response. It is appreciated. I'll continue my quest for knowledge and try to keep the questions concise, once I know enough to ask intelligent ones. As I'm new to the site and the car in general, are there any protocols to follow regarding correspondence on this forum? I don't want to break any rules and get kicked off the site for doing something dumb. My most pressing concerns are what I should be looking at with the car at 75,000 miles and 11 years old.

If you ever pass thru Rhode Island, I owe you a dinner. Traditional seafood fare, if you like and are not allergic.

I have a friend with the same last name as yours, and he found out the hard way that he has developed a reaction to shell fish later in life. He was a lifelong Rhode Islander before moving to Maine, so it was sort of a surprise how a RI food staple, like clams turned on him like that.

Once again thanks and have a good weekend.

    Hello Rob,

I'm in NJ. I am now at 219,000 miles and that manifold transformed my car. It still feels amazing. I'm happy to correspond with you.

    Sincerely,

    Ivan Anderson

    Hello Mr. Anderson,

I recently acquired a Mini Clubman (non-s model) and read your posts regarding the exhaust manifold. I'm from Rhode Island and based on some of the content in your posts, I'm speculating that you are somewhere in New England? If it wouldn't be an imposition, would you mind corresponding with me to share some of you experiences with your Mini? I am guessing that you have many insights to share with the amount of mileage you have put on your car (Nearing 200,000 miles???). I'm hoping that the instructor motivation is still active in your DNA and you might be persuaded to mentor a newbie?

Thanks in advance for any consideration of this request.

    Regards,
    Rob

    Hi,

Which programmer are you inquiring about? I have two different ones listed.
Dimsport only can load programs where as the Accessport can load, collect data and clear codes. It has been a few months since either unit was updated but it is free to do that on either companies website.
