Yeah, please be safe. It hasn't been too bad here in Melrose. Most of my family is in Spronghorns and they've had a few tornadoes. Lots of damage!

Same here, When I heard rumbles (no pun intended ) of possible hail I started on my way out of Boston asap and back into the garage. Luckily nothing happened, Although I did get all dirty

Melrose MINI's FTW!
It' didn't even rain here until around 10pm lol.

The lightning was amazing though I could stare at the clouds light up like that forever and never tire of it

I only wish I could have gotten out sooner to watch it longer and gotten a good vantage point to get photos/video.

mine had to endure it during the storm 'cuz I was still at work... nothing happened except a bath. tornado super cell thingie whatever they called it dissipated by the time it got to 95.

funny thing was as I walked out of the office, my sister called me 'cuz her computer blew up. as I was talking to her, the torrential rain hit the parking lot but I could see the sun setting through hazy cloudy skies to the west. weird storm.

Glad everyone and their MINIs are safe. Have lots of family in W. MA that got it pretty bad but no real damage or injuries. Might head that was this weekend to install my Magnaflow so will take some photos if I get the chance.

Stay fly everyone

Spronghorns? where did that come from... I meant to say most of my family is in Springfield. Everybody is okay. Tornado was very close to my brother's house, his neighborhood was destroyed, but his house was safe. My high school got beat up pretty good also. Spent most of my life there so it was crazy to see this happen.

Storm...

I work at Solutia ~ 4 miles from memprial bridge where the tornado initially touched down, I left work the day of the storms at 3:00pm and the sky was very dark. I bolted home to Webster on the pike with no issues. Got out just in time.

Watching the news the next day I was blown away at the amount of damage done to numerous cities\towns across Mass.

Pretty crazy stuff, some of my family works right by the memorial bridge too.

In brighter news, put on my Magnaflow this weekend and sounds amazing.

Also took this spy shot.

Sorry, really just I get bored waiting for the Gf and/or her sister waiting in the parking lot and looking at your good looking car. Actually about to stop by right now but wont stare lol. BTW, there is one of every generation/model almost in that parking lot now. Talk about creepy. I'll stop

Hey guys, Long time no chat. Been busy with school and the other craziness in my life...

So Tuesdays are my day off from school and this was my project for the day.
Attaching the side mount plate and making bumper plug and washing and detailing the car today. although I need to redo the plugs because the color is way off, the cap on the can was very close but the finish product was not.

....oh also getting $100 fine for rolling through the stop sign while getting ONTO the highway when no one was around... cept Mr.bacon hanging out at dunkin donuts I needed $3 worth of parts at lowes one exit down and it ended up costing me an extra $100 ...
needless to say it's not been a great few days lately and that didn't help.

So I may have a lot more free time coming up soon on my days off so if anyone ever is free during the days and wants to do a detail day at my place my drive way is pretty big actually good to fit probably 3 Mini's comfortably with enough space to move around have equipment. Just a thought so throwing it out there, If interested PM me.

Also does anyone want to do something around the north shore one of the nights this week. Maybe another Friday meet? I feel like going to Fudruckers; I want a gigantic burger

Also I just saw that WMW has a special edition of NM engineering's Strut Bar in red Of all of the strut bars I belive that this is the best one to buy but they only made it in blue which clashed for me but now its in Red = want want want want want want want want want want want want.... too bad I'm down a $100 now

checking in from Lowell. Funny how there's MINIs every other block in Boston and so few owners here anyways, new to the forums and need to meet some more Cooper owners and enthusiasts to trade ideas and hang out and such. Message me.

it's tragic, and to me incomprehensible, but regular folks buy minis...

and with sales up 47% in 2010, and Mini of Peabody the top dealer in the country, it seems that a disproportionate number of these regular folks are around here...

they don't do mods, or show up on the forum....

many of these Minis actually get dirty - and stay that way for days...

i wonder what percentage of sales are nuts, like us... 10%? 20%?

i still wave, but i do not look for a response anymore - just a reflex...

it is what it is.

Cheers,

Charlie

Very sorry to hear about the 100 dollars. There should be some other methods of punishment rather than monetary fine for student drivers, especially college students. Totally feel you man.
Detailing party would be fun and helpful since I can't really spend 200 dollars to get it detailed at this Haddad place in Worcester. Why do they charge me so much!
What would really be fun is to have an unofficial Mini's On Top one day adventure, mostly involving driving and perhaps bbq on Mt. Washington. No registration fee and still have tons of driving fun! Any thoughts?
There are four minis I've seen at my school which consists of only 2000 students. All in different colors interestingly. But I am always the only Mini on the road in Woo which kinda makes me sad.
I have a side mounted plate too but it's on the lower grill. Will post a pic soon when I get over this paper.

Yea it sucks but I was wrong and there's nothing I can do about it, Although I personally think that they should be Yield signs instead for getting on the highway for this reason specifically, why waste all of that energy to have to come to a stop only to have to accelerate back up to 50-60 mph when you could conserve energy by not turning it into kinetic energy but using the potential energy of going down a hill to conserve momentum and inertia thus using less fuel and having less wear and tear on the brakes...oops my nerd is showing

It's because people are stupid and will blow through a yield sign even when there are cars coming...

Detailing, real detailing is a very labor intensive job that's why , I spent two hours doing a five step process polishing and buffing out the larger swirl marks on my passenger door yesterday and it's still not even close to being done ; sure it looks great from 5 feet and good from 1 foot but when your right up against the paint with a bright light there are still lots of much smaller finer swirls that need something with more bite, but I'm going to talk to my detailer friend about that... I'm becoming paint OCD

Mini's on top thing could be fun, also if anyone is interested "Climb to the clouds" Mt.Washington Rally is June 26th if anyone wants to do a cruise and view

"Climb to the Clouds" sounds good. That actually doesn't limit to only Mini. It would really be awesome to do so. Let me check my schedule...

http://minisontop.com/ starts next friday (almost that time again!!) but the chances of you getting tickets and a dinner plate by next week are very very slim unfortunately. but yeah, 300+ mini coopers not only taking over the entire second lot at attitash but also ascending mt. washington is quite fun.

I've been interested in learning some detailing techniques, I've never really done it before. The white Crown Spokes are a pain to keep clean with all the brake dust. I'd be up for a detailing session.

Any of you running lighter crank pulleys ? I need to do my belts soon and the stock pulley is pretty close to being done as well so I'll just do it all at once. I don't really feel like spending 400 bucks on the ATI dampening pulley but I'm not sure if I want to gamble on the cheaper ones without it either. The problem is everyone you ask gives you a different answer

I've been running a Craven 0% lightened pulley since the factory pulley started coming apart about 10K miles ago. No complaints.

Nodoze, check with Pete at Greasy's. He has done a number of crank pulleys.

I was out there about a month ago to get my powersteering fan replaced and I asked him about it and he uses the cravenspeed pulleys. Just looking to see some opinions from people who have them and drive on them every day
