Feeler FS: it's not a MINI 1993 e30 325iC convertible
Mods, please lock, or delete this post if it's against guidelines...but i'm not a commercial entity trying to sell this.
I want to guage interest on this excellent Calypso Red iC i've got. It is nearly the last off the lot being built in 12/92. I've had it for 1 year, got it with 125K miles on it, and it now has 129K and it has been perfect as a weekend fun car. I have done quite a lot of mechanical work, here's a list: Replaced: Timing Belt Water Pump Front Crank Seal, Cam Seal, Int shaft seal and tensioner Valve Cover Gasket Air Intake Boot and breather hose Front Pads, Rotors and sensors Spark Plugs Shift Knob w/illuminated M Repaired: Cracked windshield - replaced Cracked passenger fog - replaced Coolant Leak Driver side door brake Slow leak in passenger rear tire Climate and Audio panel loose - tightened Power Antenna grommet Adjusted: Valves Fluids: Oil Change Coolant Flush Current Problems: Power Top needs work - rear window is fogged and has some tears, and it's manual right now :-) Interior Leather - needs to be refinished there's a pretty good sized dent on the rear fender, but whatever dented the car, didn't damage the paint at all, local body shop says only 20 or 30 bucks to pop it back out. There a small dent in the passenger side front fender near the headlamps, broke the paint, but it's not rusting. If it were to get repaired, might as well repaint the fender because it has scratches on it. OBC LCD is not very ledgible interior light bulb is out front bumper is missing the small black plastic lip (under the fog lamps) All of the power windows and locks work, power antenna, wipers, washers, warning lights, tach, speedo, odometer and trip odometer all work. Mechanically and Electrically it is very sound. no gremlins, and everything works. It is a lot of fun, sounds great, is reliable. If someone purchases the car, it will only take a little bit of work to get it back to excellent condition since I did a majority of the mechanical repairs. I am asking 6500. Does this sound reasonable to everyone? comments, questions? Here's a link to pictures: http://steve.darg.net/gallery/album24 Let me know what you all think! |
You can buy an e36 non-m in really good condition for that price. Just lettin you know. I ended up only getting $3k for my e36 325is, modded, 133k miles...

Yeah...i know that e36's can be had for a similar price. When I looked at how much some folks were selling their e30 iC's for, i was surprised. Funny world. It's just a feeler, i've gotten a few inquiries already (not from NAM) but i might end up just keeping it. who knows.

check out the classifieds in the Roundel (BMW CCA monthly magazine) to get an idea of the E-30 convertible market pricing. That said, your addressable market looking for a vintage e-30 3-series may want a car that's already pristine - having owned several vintage 3s and 02s in show/ concourse condition, I can say from experience that you can pretty much expect that you will be very hard pressed to get your money out of a restoration. however, if you really enjoy the car, hang onto and fix it up
btw, I suspect a good PDR technician may be able to remove the dent from the rear quarter w/o any paintwork  Good luck. |
Actually if anything, roundel and places like roadfly.com will not accurately show market value of Bimmers as most of those owners/sellers are enthusiast who want top dollar for their baby. I find autotrader tends to be a more realistic gauge for market value.
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/search...=325IC&x=0&y=0 Seems for the price for the mileage is a little high just from the search results on '93 325ic's. But boy, what I wouldn't do to have the room for an E30 M3. http://www.rogueengineering.com/pics/e30m3/e30m3_3.jpg
