This Craven shift lever bushing directly replaces the stock plastic MINI shift lever bushing.  The stock shift lever bushings can crack when they get old, or easily break when you remove them to replace the shifter.  MINI doesn't offer the stock bushing replacement, so this is the only option.  It is also machined to a tighter tolerance than the stock bushing so it will firm up the shifter feel in addition to being just a replacement.
