Hey Mark!

I haven't had a chance to "self-organize" any events lately but we've been invited to attend many TSD rallies through the Winnipeg Sports Car Club (WSCC) and also an Ice AutoX back in January (Freeze I hope your MINI is healing:sad: ). I have been a little lax on posting the events here (I know I suck) but send out e-mails when there is an event coming. Only problem is that I sometimes here about these events only a few days prior.

We've had 5 MINI drivers (myself excluded) join the WSCC for the TSD rally series and 2 of us participated in the Ice AutoX ...may I add that (my) Mark came in first over all other cars (about 35) including the AWD Subies!

I do plan on having a bunch of events this spring and summer including another (shorter:wink: ) treasure hunt as well as potentially a charity event. There are set to be a few GOOD car shows this summer and would love to have a good outcome to the British Car show as well as the Sports compact shows. There are so many beautiful MINIs here in the 'peg so we do need to show them off!

Good to hear from you Mark - how are things in St. Louis? Maybe I can convince (my) Mark to make a trip out there for one of your club's events!

Gotta Motor!

Hey Bridget,

Things are going great down here. We bought a house, and get it next week. My daughter and sister are coming down in 2 weeks to be here for our wedding on the 21st:grin:

STLMINI is just gearing up for another season of motoring events, not that they really have winter here:roll:.

Check out the STL forum here on NAM and see if anything looks like you may be able to come down for. We have a spare bedroom in the new house, so you would have a place to stay here. The motor down from the Peg takes about 1 1/2 days taking the interstates.

Say hi to everyone in the Peg for me. Say hi to Karl at the dealer the next time you see him.

There's a dusting of it....but funny thing, now that I put those tires on Bubbles, I'm actually looking forward to the first test! Whadda ya mean we only have 1 foot of snow! hahahaha...

In reality, we're only getting a little dusting of those small, round pellets of snow...

lotsie 11-21-2007 02:36 PM

Looks like you are getting some snow today, but temps make me think it's going to just melt away.

Hey Mark,

February is almost over. The sun is getting higher in the sky, and we appear to have survived the worst of the deep-freeze part of winter.

As for light-jacket weather, I was driving home from work taking the scenic route (Wellington Crescent) yesterday, with the temperature just a couple degrees below 0C and snow flying. I saw at least one jogger out in sweat pants with a tshirt, and another in shorts.

I might have put my parka into the closet for good yesterday, except for the fact that today's high was forecast to be back to the -teens C.

Bucky with his winter tires have handled everything this winter has thrown at us in admirable fashion...so far.:)

However, we still have March (and often a good bit of April) to deal with before we can declare victory over Winter yet another time.

Still waiting to hear from MINI Canada about the Clubman launch. (My big quibble with the Clubman design is that it appears that you can have your roof and barn door entrance to the hatch in any colour you like, as long as it's Silver. ) (couldn't find a smiley icon poking its finger down its throat...)

Any MINI I ever own going forward will be red with a white roof, and if I can't buy a Clubman like that, then maybe I'll just be happy with "Bucky".

lotsie 03-14-2008 07:37 PM

We are thinking of either a CR/B Clubman S, or a BRG/B Clubman S. Either way, we will get rid of the 05 BRG Cabrio, and keep Poco, the old timer BRG/W Canuck issue MINI:thumbsup: Pushing him to 160,000 kms and beyond:nod::grin:
