That is to say, can I buy an '07 and then just add the JCW kit when it comes out without voiding the warrantee (installed by Mini Dealer)?

jeez the new car's only been officially released for a couple weeks, and hasn't even made it to the big car show unveiling. Chill. By the time the general consumer will be able to order one around the first part of November, I'm sure the dealer will have all JCW kit info available. I'm sure this has been taken into account. JB

I don't think this is clear yet.

Some reading indicates it might even be a separate "model", factory only. Time will tell. It aint coming out until next summer on 08s so its got a long way to go.

07 LSD and JCW Brakes

Dealer rep just called me in response to a message I left him. He tells me that YES the Limited Slip Differential will be available, and the S cars will all come with the JCW brake package.

Posted on motoring file: The JCW engine upgrade/performance kit will only be available as a factory build option - no after-the-fact dealer add-on kits. If this is correct, can't buy an S now, and upgrade it later.

I saw my MA the other day and he said there would NOT be a JCW engine available for 2007, just the peripheral options like aero kit, wheels, brakes, etc. He said there wasn't an effort put into the JCW engine design in the first production year of the new engine. There is a possibility the JCW factory option may be available late in 2007 productions. Time will tell when the 2007 model is released in the coming weeks.

So all the show... but no more go. Hmmm...

(insert phone dialing sound effect) "Hello, Dinan?"
