Looking at a GP3

Hello all, I am looking at a GP3 here in Boston and was wondering if anyone has thought about winter tires. Brand/size thoughts. I don't really need it to be a daily winter driver since I am essentially retired and If the snow is bad I just wont go out. I do need it to be drive-able in the colder temps so those semi slick tires will not really work. I am running 225/50/18s Michelin AS3+ on my JCW countryman and I like the thicker tire to protect from the potholes.
I would appreciate thoughts and concerns.
Thanks

I have a GP3, and my research said you can easily fit 225/40 under the car on stock wheels. I am almost positive Michelin offers that size for the as3+ or AS4 (I believe they are replacing the 3+). Regardless, that’s what I would suggest for your situation since you already like the tires.

check out tire rack to confirm and get approximate costs.

Also, check prices with Walmart and Costco for Michelin tires.

Let us know what you do and when possible post your thoughts. I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+s on my 2016 F56 JCW and love them. Most likely the GP will be a garage queen in the winter months though. My initial impression of the Hankooks is that they are a good handling sticky tire that holds corners excellently. It remains to see how long they last. I plan to have enough miles on it by the end of September to be able to use GP mode! It has incredible low end grunt. 2nd day love affair today and over 200 miles now, only 1,000 to go to be able to let er' rip! I have always been a Michelin fan and swapped out the OEM runflats for the Michelins on my R56 JCW after a month with the OEM runflats as well. I have gone through 4 sets of the A/S 3's on the F56 JCW. If you drive the GP3 aggressively they won't last long.
