wow .........

I'll keep my 2016

MoBoost 04-08-2019 01:53 PM

I like the race track camouflage wrap!

Forcerecontrojan 04-08-2019 02:35 PM

Since I'm number 1 at my dealer...I'm still getting it. I hope there are new colors offered, it will look cool next to my GT3 :)

vetsvette 04-08-2019 04:17 PM

I like the wing, but I'm not real sure about the fender thingies.

pjsjr13 04-08-2019 04:42 PM

Not for me. That wing and strange fender flappers  However that camo wrap is great:popcorn:

Neat!
Thanks for sharing.

I agree the camo wrap is supercool.

The fender thingy flappers though are a bit odd I also agree, may look a bit different in the end with paint scheme etc. so I'll hold out on final judgement.

Wonder where the idea came from for those arch edgers?

I can not think of any precedent, or any car that has ever used such a design.

They remind me simultaneously of airplane winglets and 80's shoulder pads!

They’re messing with us. They’ve got to be. The rear wing I buy but those fenders...

(maybe Chris Bangle is back for a little hit-and-run styling? ;) )

El-Grunto 04-08-2019 10:45 PM

They tamed the body down way too much from the concept for my taste. If you're going to do a boy-racer body kit go all the way over the top with it like the Civic Type R or don't do it at all. I know the Type R's aesthetics are super polarizing when it comes to people liking it or not but they nailed the boy-racer look.

SFMCS 04-09-2019 04:01 AM

Form follows function. I would assume there was some wind tunnel testing.

charrigan 04-09-2019 04:27 AM

Jesus Christ those fenders are horrible looking. They ruin the lines of the car and look like an afterthought.

KYDan 04-09-2019 04:46 AM

This is a test mule and may or may not reflect the actual car. I still want one regardless and I am anxiously awaiting the finalized version.

That looks to be part of the production validation test fleet. They even wrapped over the GP badge on the rear. All signs are pointing to that being the production form of the GP3

If you look closely at the over-fenders, the sheet metal underneath looks like it follows the standard F56 metal. It appears to me that the over-fenders might be interchangeable with the regular JCW wheel arches.

kfmuller 04-09-2019 07:01 AM

Thought I was going to want one of these - but, the wing just looks so out of place to me. I imagine it doesn't weigh anything, but looks like it weighs a ton. Weird.

MikeMJCW 04-09-2019 08:52 AM

I agree, something looks off with the fenders. How do you wash back in there? Maybe they'll tie the fenders into the car like the 80's Renault 5 Turbo.
Close to the end of the photo chain is what appears to be a black Mini with that new GP3 wheel, has a blue brake caliper. I'm hoping that wheel can fit an F56 without poking out.

kfmuller 04-09-2019 09:46 AM

I added the GP 2 spoiler to my R56. I thought it integrated pretty well. I want to reserve judgment until I can see it in person, but not sure I'd still be able to get one if they sell out fast. The body add-ons, the rear spoiler, and the rumor that it will only come in automatic are pushing me towards the M2 Competition.

LOL... Not sure about this at all. I would guess many of them will stay on the dealer lots for a very long time.

Everything look very much "bolt-on" aftermarket with absolutely no sense of function over aesthetics.

SFMCS 04-10-2019 03:52 AM

Like your wing that pops up and down?

Andy_S 04-10-2019 06:42 AM

Those front wheels are all brake.

Agreed. I noticed the mini-splitters flow right into the side wings here. I doubt those are camouflage – making molds for IM costs a lot. Molds are expensive and you don't make them unless you need them. Now, they could be 3D printed or even hand fabricated, but this late in the game, I don't think so.

Might be! You'll also need the mini-splitter plastic, and if you want to go for a full match, the modified lower air intake bodywork for the brakes & intercooler. That center piece is really different from the standard JCW part:

These pictures just saved me 50K. I have zero interest in this disaster. Long live first and second. Generation MINI’s!!!

need to shower after looking at those pictures.

Hmmmmmm…..either someone is messing with us or those fender flares must be magical for improving something!!! Maybe they allow much wider wheel & tire setups which would definitely be a good thing right? If I had to venture a guess here, my bet is the "real deal" will look much better than these spy photos. If a normal JCW can make some of us drool, the GP has to top the standard JCW!

The fenders make it look like a bad VW Beetle body mod. The spoiler you can get on any Mini I bet. No splitter which is weird. I'll pass thanks. They said the best GT was the first one which is probably right.
