Is this time of year a good time to order a Mini?

Greetings. New to the forum. Thinking about ordering a JCW. Not sure when is the earliest date to order a new model year Mini. Should I wait a few months for the 2020? Any input will be appreciated.

Hard to say if it is or not, placed my order for my F54 on 10/31 and got a good deal, but I feel that it is up to you to work on your negotiation skillz. Here is a good thread to read up on, lots of good advice here before stopping by your dealer:

Good luck!

I'm guessing you'll have to wait until July or August to order a 2020. The LCI is what pushed the model year change from the 2018 to 2019 up. If you know what you want, I say order as soon as you can. You won't regret it!

I agree, any time is a good time to order a new MINI, especially a JCW! I ordered my 2015 JCW in April 2015, and due to a delay in production for the Getrag manual 6-speed transmission very few JCW's with a manual transmission were made in 2015, My JCW's birthdate was June 4, 2015 and they started manufacturing 2016's in July (which is normal)!. I'm glad I didn't wait, as they changed a few things that you can no longer order, and I have a very rare manual transmission JCW (1 of only 37 imported in 2015 as a 2015 JCW!) :-)

Never wait if you know exactly what you want is my advice. if something can happen to screw things up it will likely happen if you procrastinate!

We drive the cars, not the deals. So, in the end, the deal is done and you get to motor. After waiting, and waiting, and tracking the ship, and waiting.... so worth it.

Great deal if you are happy with it. Tell us what dealer if you don't mind, always nice to track who is offering what.

Enjoy, a very fun car to drive.

Cincinnati Mini in ... Cincinnati. They acknowledge the 8% difference between the MSRP and the invoice. I ask them to meet me in the middle by offering a 4% discount, which is also the truecar price. They refused. I like the salesperson, so essentially paid 1k for some honesty and convenience.

It depends on a lot of variables as to how close you can get to that 8% off MSRP, that is for sure. I would have to expect the discount would be less for a JCW than either an S or 'justa', just because it is a 'special' model in the lineup. I remember when I purchased my former SVT Contour back in the day, trying to get anything even near MSRP was unheard of with any of Ford's SVT vehicles because they didn't want to discount the SVT brand. I caught my sales guy at an opportune time at the end of the month and squeezed him down to $500 under invoice...it was a nearly 2 hour moral victory! I was lucky enough to negotiate 7.5% off MSRP on my F54S, but it took the MA bringing in the Sales Manager to get there. Even at invoice pricing, they still make money. Enjoy your ride!!

That discount is what I'd expect from MINI Portland, maybe even less. I'd have to travel 3+ hours to get a better deal.

With JCW they figure you probably sold yourself on it already so why discount. Only the anemic MINI sales data makes them do any deals now.
