Placed a order build on a JCW 2019 HELP
Hi everyone... new to the forum and my apologies if I'm posting in the wrong location. I placed an order on a 2019 JCW 2 door (Iconic Series) this afternoon, and it should arrive in December 2019. Got all the bells and whistles added that you can imagine. But one problem... I wanted the JCW Tuning Kit w/exhaust flap system (with remote) but was told it didn't come with the JCW as the JCW supposedly already has the "JCW" exhaust that sounds great, loud pops, etc. etc. I'm not sure if she was correct as she made other mistakes that she had to correct on the build while my wife and I were there.
So, does the 2019 JCW 2D come with the JCW Tuning Kit w/exhaust flap system or could I have at least added it to the build? I truly loved the sound effect. They have a 2018 4 Dr Cooper S in the show room with a JCW package added to it which has an amazing sounding exhaust with remote, but it sounded louder than a 2019 JCW 2 door on the lot that we test drove prior to our build. I drive a 911 S and when I place it in sport mode it does the same thing and sounds AMAZING! This will be my first mini and I've dreamed of owning one for over 30 years. I want everything to be exactly like I want it since I'm building it.
Any help would be so much appreciated!

No the flap exhaust is part of the dealer install kit. The factory JCW just has their version of the JCW exhaust. But honestly you can go aftermarket with a remus exh that has the flap for less and resale your brand new JCW exh to someone that just has an S. We just did this earlier this year for a customer with a JCW and he loves his.

So... the exhaust that comes with the 2019 JCW that I ordered doesn't have the remote and will not make the crack, pop, snap sounds? That sucks? I have a 911S and when I put it into Sport Mode and sounds amazing.
The dealer would have to do a kit install more or less? and thank you so much for the response! Waiting on the admins to remove my email address from the public too...

Just to clarify -- not trying to nitpick -- every JCW has the tuning kit, which can also be added to an S by the dealer. What you're referring to is the JCW Pro exhaust with the remote & flap. Like Way said, if you didn't get the JCW Pro exhaust in your order, the Remus is a popular alternative that costs less but also gets very favorable reviews. The Pro was offered to me when I placed my order, but I'm not 100% sure if it was installed at the VDC or dealer, before delivery. No matter, the Remus setup will probably fit the bill.
Congrats on your JCW order. What color did you get?
I picked my '19 up in late July & have loved every minute of it -- I'm sure you will too!

It will bang and pop, they will be louder in Sport mode, but not as loud compared to an aftermarket exhaust.
I had the JCW Pro Exhaust and really liked it but since Im always tweaking my Mini I went with the aforementioned Remus setup and love it!
Get the car, drive it for a bit and then worry about modding it. You might like how the stock setup sounds..

Went back to the dealer and had them make an addendum to the build sheet adding the JCW Pro exhaust with the remote & flap. They actually didn't even know that you could do this on a JWC which left me scratching my head as I walked out the door. Super friendly sales staff but lacking on education of their products and how to build out. Thanks to you both for letting me know or I would have had a mini arriving without the exhaust system that I wanted from the start! They said it comes with the remote. I plan to add carbon fiber tips as they advised me they couldn't get it done at the factory for whatever reason.

May I ask why so late in the year that you're going to get the JCW? Usually an order should take about 8-10 weeks which is from my local dealer here in CA. Also, they can install the pro exhaust at the port which is a lot cheaper than having it installed at the dealership. At least at the port, it is still manufacturer installed. Once it gets to the dealer, they will have to charge labor and installation for it.

From what I've heard, they only build JCWs certain weeks of the month, so it can be longer depending on when you get your order in. My wife's JCW Clubman was ordered Sep 17 and didn't make it to the dealer until Dec 22, however many weeks that is. It didn't help that the boat stopped in Baltimore first before heading down through the Panama Canal to Port Hueneme.

Like chrunck said, JCW's are built in batches. I got my '12 in around 7 weeks, my current order is in week 5 and figure at least 3-4 more till it arrives. If on west coast add another week or 2. As far as exhaust goes, I added with order so yes installed at port so no install fee.

That is the normal time frame, but JCW's are built in batches so can be longer. My '12 got here in 7 weeks, my current build will likely be 9-10 (currently on it way across ocean). And you being on west coast there will also be a longer travel time, some on here waited close to 3 months.
