You are correct, they are of poor qulaity. Bummer. Should have just splurged on the factory part dammit, but will most likely use it for a template to get a reproduction using higher quality vinyl from a local shop. Likely though, you are correct and blue was only perhaps used on the very early heads before red became the standardized color. Bit of a mystery. |

the blue dot and placque was fitted on a R50 that came direct from JCG someone has retro fitted in onto a R53 , the car itself is packed with good items but is a mix n match car for its parts

I have an 04 JCW, electric blue S2996. Built in November 2003. It has the 200 hp install. Would have to pull the ECU to look at install date.

Also… is the numbering consistent for all markets (IE: IS, CDN, EU, Japan, UK etc) ??
We can probably say at least 18k kits if the numbering started at 01 … more than I would have thought it would have been … not as rare as I thought. |

Good point about the kits being available from the dealer until 2017, just sitting on a shelf somewhere for all that time I reckon, and some still floating around out there that have never even been installed, so I guess we need to take that into account too, although I'd reckon the amount of uninstalled kits is quite low at this point.
