Yes, the guy is a member here and posted yesterday.

14 miles, a time capsule.

I would be very interested to see what he gets at the end. Capsule it was kept in. Cars rarely are the best of investment vehicles.

I figured you all would know about it but it’s too nice to not mention it! I’m not on this forum much as I have a 2015 F56 JCW ( with only 1,000 miles....lol!)

For someone who missed out on new GP1, this would be an excellent opportunity, even at "sticker"... or more.

It is at $30k now. I am not tempted as I am faithful to my Desire as it (ambiguous gender ). I know if I get a GP, the first things that come off are the god awful 18" wheels.

Gen 1 GP is the best of the JCW and limited edition offerings, and there will never be another modern Mini like it. Still I will not trade my Desire for one as I like it the way it is, very flawed but oozes with character.

Has 3 Gp's now he will be down to 2. I never saw a GP with this low of miles today(but i did back then ;) ). I went to MTTS 2006 and saw them delivery the rest in NJ. I was there with the MINI Corp HQ people. Maybe like 4-5 GPs were being done at that time. Most people took delivery in Cali at Monterey.

Just "hammered" for $36,000 plus commission! Congrats to buyer and seller!

pnwR53S 05-17-2018 12:11 PM

I watched the last 5 minutes. Good there is a transaction.

Minnie.the.Moocher 05-17-2018 12:44 PM

Just a curiosity question since I've never been involved in a high dollar auction. What happens if buyer or seller says forget it, don't want to complete transaction. Couldn't find any mention of that on the BAT website, although I might have missed it.

pnwR53S 05-17-2018 12:49 PM

As for BAT, I think they both have to pay the fees to BAT. I see nowhere BAT is involve in ensure the contract is fulfilled. The parties have to settle it or sue and it would be a valid contract in any reasonable court.

Yes, i saw it went for 36K, I would have guessed 40K plus. But I guess thats what the market is.

02fanatic 05-18-2018 12:16 PM

It was fun to watch but I’d think the seller was hoping for more as these cars had to cost about that or more brand new in 2006! I do know that used ones seem to sell in the $20k plus range with low to moderate mileage, so I was a bit surprised it didn’t go for more. Although considering the new F56’s are so powerful despite their size, when reality sets in many buyers simply decide not to buy old technology irrespective of the pulling of the heartstrings for these supercharged little pocket rockets.
