Best tune for JCW
I have been waiting a while to see if I wanted to tune up my JCW. I have done nothing else to modify this car. I modded the crap out of my R56 and killed it. Not gonna make that mistake with this one.
I am looking to just do a tune to get a little more power. I have a stock 2016 JCW.
I have been looking at the JB4 but open to other ideas.
I would like to see some dyno plots for stock JCW vs tuned JCW. Can anyone recommend a solution and let me know what numbers I can expect as far as HP/TQ increase?
Thanks in advance.

You may want to look into the BMW/Mini Dinantronics Tunes. They offer
a 'Sport' Tune for $299 and an 'Elite' for $899. I believe the labor
would be $180 - $200. I believe whereas the 'Elite' only has a little more
hp/torque gains over the 'Sport', they do offer a 4 year warranty on a
new car. You need to find out if the 'Sport' is compatible with the remaining
warranty on your 'used' car? I believe the warranty for 'Sport' is one year but
you need to check this out with an approved Dinan tune shop. Also, if you
do contact them, ask about what upgrading to their down-pipe and exhaust
will add to your performance as well as cost for those upgrades.

I can't speak to the Burger unit but here is my experience.
2016 4 Door S with factory installed JCW tune & exhaust.
I have used the NM tuner box, the Dinan Sport tuner and now I am running the Dinan Elite unit. I upgraded to the Elite the moment it was released and I am thrilled. The Elite offered simple use, no programing or setting anything, just make the plug ins and drive. Plus it carries a warranty that matches the MINI warranty. The Elite delivers much smoother power, no hiccups or surges in the power delivery. I do a ton of highway driving and there is no need to shift from 6 gear to pass at highway speeds, the torque is abundant.
Just be certain to speak with a Dinan rep on which unit is right for your car, as they recently released an upgrade for the JCW tuned cars.
Good Luck.

I have a Dinan Elite in my 2018 F60. What a blast! Couldn’t agree more-smooth power and lots of it. Well worth the money.

Was told that the Dinan upgrades (Sport & Elite) to an 'S' car are
basically bringing the power levels closer to the stock JCW F 57 cars.
However, since the JCW cars also come fitted with the 4 Pot Brembo
Big Brake Kit, that would cost you $2,000 + labor, that is also something
that needs to be weighed into the decision to go 'S' or 'JCW'. Since only
the 'Elite' matches the Mini 4 year warranty, you would be looking at
approximately $1,100 for the 'Elite' and approximately $2,500 for an
'installed' Brembo 4 Pot Big Brake set-up which would have to be added
to the original cost of your 'S'. Also, I believe the JCW Exterior Aero Kit
would add still another $2,000.

I don't know if that's true. I agree it is A popular choice, but it is fairly new and I've not seen that many actual users commenting on it. I've seen no dyno sheets comparing the Elite to the Sport or NM boxes. At more than twice the price I'd need a lot more info, but that's just me. I've been running an NM box since 9/2015 with very good results and no downside yet. I have been considering The Elite, but like I said, I'm looking for a lot more real world opinions before dropping $900 on one.

They have Dyno charts for each tuning box. Not sure if the added cost is worth it for me. With sport mode on and Dinan sport on plus, it seems to be fast enough to get me in trouble.

Dinan Sport in Sport+ does it for me on on my F54 S. Had it on for 6,000 miles and lovin' it still with 91 pump gas. Paid about $250 delivered last fall.
Going in for the first annual service next week. Asked my service adviser if I should remove the Dinan prior to the car's coming into the dealership shop. He said nope. He's got a JB on his personal MINI and he wants to see the Dinan.
The Elite gives more power than the Sport or the NM. Elite is without adjustment options. Some report the Elite delivers the extra grunt in smoother fashion than the less expensive, single input units.
A significant portion of the extra cost for the Elite is for the warranty that the Dinan Sport, NM Engineering, JB, etc, DO NOT HAVE. $500 for peace of mind is worth it for some, as is the extra (and smoother) power that comes from the Elite.
It's more a matter of preference and risk tolerance. I have read NO solid reports of a warranty issue denied because of one of these tuning boxes. Yet still, for any of them, buyer beware.

Current Elite is set for Stage 1, so Downpipe and Exhaust are not require. As the matter of fact that DINAN most likely will not have a Downpipe for our Minis since they need to CARB approved

I do know they did a big black Friday deal last year, I expect they will do something similar again this time around. yes Dinan would be my suggestion as well. Sport or Elite you cant really go wrong, whatever best suit the needs of the individual

Pretty sure that's what I have (check my sig). I know, I know, I have an R56 JCW. But I got mine put on the car in Tempe, AZ for $500 and it's freaking great. AND, it makes the exhaust pop/burble more when I l let off the gas at higher RPMs which is really cool. The guy who did it didn't even mention that. I still get about 34 MPG on the highway too. I think they'll let you mail them your ECU and they'll mail it back ASAP too. I'd get that one not one of those clip on boxes. It does more stuff than them.

Sorry to inform you, but if your dealer installs it, it is covered. I should know because before I purchased my car the dealer had already installed the sport addition. I did not request this. So before purchasing, I got it in writing that the warranty would not be void. The dealership gave it to me in writing signed and witnessed.
