JCW Omfg! MINI JCW GP3 Concept

Not too bad. The front end is still ugly af though. They need to move on from the fish face model.... And those headlights! Gawd! They've never looked good. Enough ugly MINI's already. Also, if that scoop is changed for 0 reason, like it's still not functional, they need to fire whoever put it on there. Js.

The shape of the grill is the main issue with the car, not the bumper guard. The guard is just collateral damage. The whole front end is fugly minus the bottom and sides. From the bottom of the grill to the top of the headlights is awful. FIX IT BM'r! And again if that scoop isn't functional the designer should be shot.

If you remove the overuse of red, then it works just fine.... Better in fact.
As for the hood scoop, how do you know it isn’t functional? There was kit for the R56/58 that made it’s hood scoop work, so this might as well. Doubtful, but still.
Did you see the dash? It looks to be LCD. So maybe we’ll finally have the rev counter as main fixture again.
I was thinking of a TT RS or M2 next time round, but this has got rethinking MINI again.

I like some elements of the exterior. Some. I've never had any issues with F series interiors, it's the exteriors I can't stand. The dash looks good to me
I'm all over the board for my next car. I like the new Rustangs and Camarslo's(V8 versions). I also like the new MX-5. I'm not against having an Ecoboost truck. 370Z is also in the mix. GTI even. See, All over the place. I was looking at TT's prior to purchasing the MINI. I needed a usable rear seat at the time.

OK, I'll quantify the hood scoop - The R53's hood scoop was functional. It was supercharged, but still there is hope.
I've seen comments on Motoring File's website I just don't think people get the term "concept". It is meant to be OTT. Some of the features will no doubt make it:
I am thinking the lack of a rear seat (given).
DCT gearbox.
LCD display has a good shot.
Fender flairs (just not as OTT).
The red highlights.
A version of the seats (option I am thinking).
The rear spoiler I would like to see, but I think we'll get a version without all the flicks, strakes, etc.
M division use carbon fibre on the M cars, so we might see the bonnet and the roof maybe.
The adjustable suspension... Manual, like the Challenge car not controllable from inside.
18" version of the wheels (sans the colour inserts)
Black trim (no chrome)
The front and rear splinters will have to meet pedestrian impact requirements in the US, so they'll be there, just not as large or prominent.

This is just a concept and a pretty bad one about integrated design to keep core with the Mini spirit.
The grille and bumper less the ugly splitter are the only features that could come close to production. I believe it would be a big improvement over the actual design.

At VIR for the IMSA race I was set up so could see how much the MINIs would roll onto the front outer wheel in a turn. Would be nice to see them come up with something that would be more competitive in IMSA but then it could be like the Cayman where Porsche does not want the baby to beat the daddy. BMW may not like to have the MINI in front of their nameplates.

Not talking about "factory racing", rather talking about a car manufacturer that uses racing to sell cars (similar to Ferry Porsche) rather then selling cars to race (Enzo Ferrari). Also the Porsche folks recognize that the Cayman with the mid engine design is better overall when compared to the flagship rear engine 911. Yet Porsche puts the hotter engine in the flagship. I was thinking out loud whether BMW prefers to have their Bavarian flag logo out in front of the MINI/union jack. In other words will MINI forever be the stepchild?
