2005 JCW Convertible

Found a 2005 JCW with 79,800 miles, they are asking $5,900 bucks. Good buy? What should I be looking out for? Never owned a mini before.

That's a great price especially if it's a true JCW. It has the factory aero kit also which did not come with the JCW package. I'd buy it for that.

Ok

Are there any things I want to look out for? How do I tell if it's truly a JCW?

I would have a mechanic inspect it prior to purchase. Also have your local dealer run the vin and see if they have service history and can give you the options the car had to tell if it's a real JCW.

I don't see the red JCW brakes in your pic, so that makes me wonder if it's just the pic or not a real JCW?

JCW or not, if it checks out in good condition, grab it. You have no idea the amount of motoring fun there is to be had with a fine R52. But...be prepared to pay very close attention to it's needs. It is NOT a drive it and forget it grocery getter appliance, a regular service schedule will keep it going strong for years to come. Two years ago our semiannual road trip took us 6500 miles mostly top down along unforgettable back country roads and one is building for this year.
