Ok, I'm confused. On MINI USA's site (linked to via my local dealer's site), they only list the JCW tuning kit for the F56.
Is the same kit used for the F55 and F56? I assumed not, because the factory rear muffler part numbers are different for them: F56 rear muffler vs F55 rear muffler.
Thanks guys!
Definitely a different part number due to the longer pipe of the F55.
F55 Tuning Kit part number should be: 11122360847

Dumb name for a mail in rebate!
You pay normal price, then MINI sends a Visa gift card for 25% of the parts cost back to you. Doesn't cover labor, but it does cover expensive stuff like the tuning kit and even wheels.
So, I got it installed today and am loving it. What a piece! It is not as loud as I had thought (I need to turn down the volume when I watch YouTube videos!) but it is great noise. And the power increase is subtle but noticeable. There is a weak (kind of) drone when I roll slowly in the 2nd gear but it is not big of a deal. I just speed up quickly.
When I came out of the casher room and saw the original factory exhaust, my chin dropped. It is one piece and humongous!! I had asked my SA to put it in the box in which the JCW exhaust came so that I could put it in my car and go home but that damn thing is way too long. I wonder what other owners did with the original. A friend of mine wants it so I said go ahead and pick it up.
If you want more of a Pop and extra HP and acceleration, look into NM power module. A lot of people had positive reviews with jcw exhaust/tune upgrade and a little extra from the NM module. Enjoy your car for a while and if you feel it's missing something, then power module! I left my old exhaust and didn't even bother with it. Didn't know it was that ginormous!

Yeah it is on my bucket list. Maybe in fall
By the way, I was curious about MPG with the kit. I had a long easy ride on a back road this afternoon with the flap open and in the mid mode. The computer said 46mpg. Seriously??

Plausible. Back roads, so I assume you were probably traveling around or under 55mph? On my stock F55S I just hit 36 mpg on a round trip to the airport averaging 70mph. Given that drag increases as a cube factor of speed, and that I've seen far far better fuel economy at 55 than 70 in all my past cars, then yes, I think mid-40s for lower speed driving isn't out of the question
Yeah around 55mph, easy driving with almost no traffic and a few 4-way stops in 30min drive, BP Premium (93) in the tack, tire pressure freshly adjusted in the morning.
I love my MINI even more
On flat/ leveled highways, I used to get 43mpg with the cruise control on.
Here is the video of the unboxing of the JCW tuning kit and other JCW parts at Mini of Dutchess County NY. Chris from Mini of Dutchess County was kind enough to let us record him, while he showed me the parts.
If you have any question I would be glad to answer them. I had a lot of work done to my car.
Definitely the best factory add on money can buy. Worth while investment! Not the cheapest, but you get quality and warranty. Most importantly for me, peace of mind. Do it right the first time, you never have to do it again. Still surprises me sometimes how loud it can get on sport/race mode.
