It looks so sad with out the red.
Those wheels look great! I can't believe the price for being a forged wheel. I wonder if the would fit over a JCW BBK

My guess is it'll be really right. Or 5 mm spacer to clear the fronts. Which would make the back look too tucked so an 5-8 mm at the rear should even it out a bit.

Wheels look great! Any pics of the entire car with the wheels on?

I measured the distance between the face of the cooper S brake disc to the inner spoke (66mm) with my 498 race spoke wheels prior to fitting bbk which may give you an idea of clearance required.

I had 499 cosmos wheels prior which had (47mm) clearance which meant a 20mm spacer was needed for those wheels

Just installed Michelin 225-45-17 tires and everything fits fine even with the 3/4" wider track of new wheels. These 17" NM Engineering wheels are 8 lbs each lighter than the stock JCW track spoke wheels but the new tires are 3 lbs heavier than the stock 205-45-17 runflats, so the overall weight drop is now 5 lbs per wheel. That is still a big difference.

The larger diameter of the new tire should also compensate for the factory speedometer error which always showed the car going faster than its actual speed.

The down side is that the recorded fuel mileage will drop; the actual true fuel mileage won't change but it will now appear to be lower. Now if I drive 100 miles it should actually show 100 miles instead of a bogus 102, 103, or more. ........... but the plus side is that the warranty will last a few miles more!

Does anyone in Southern California want to buy some stock runflat tires with only 4000 miles on them?

Thanks for the info Sootyvrs! Will measure to see if I have the 66 mm clearance when the time come.
Generally speaking, when putting tires wider that the previous setup (also depending on tire compound) wouldn't you experience an overall loss in Mpg cause of traction and inertia. Wider tires would tend to grip more than a narrower tire (in theory) not sure, just a thought.

Wheels look great!

Wider tyres generally have higher rolling resistance hence worse fuel economy.

You can't have everything unfortunately :(

Touren TR 60 Winter Rims

Finding reasonable priced winter rims that still looked ok AND fit over the JCW brakes was a bit of a challenge. So I went for Touren TR60, 17 inch in matt black. I like the look and they seem quite well made.

Is that an et 42? Were any spacers needed?

Not sure if they are et 42, but hub rings were required.

Team Dynamics

TD makes the wheels for the JCW track edition car.
I have them on my JCW-fits perfect. True 18x8. It is the widest wheel u can fit on a f56 JCW.

All other vendors only offer 18x7 or 7.5.

Those look sweet! Just curious: I assume those are 17"'s right? Are 18"'s available?

Sorry, I missed it above....if I go with those eventually (because I absolutely love my stock JCW cup spokes), I was thinking 18" x 7.5" ET40. Unless 18" x 8" is all they have....what tire size are you running then? Offset? No rubbing, even if lowered? Doing my homework!

I started a wheel & tire thread in early 2015 on the f56mini forum about how to make larger wheels & wider tires fit these cars. It's certainly not been easy getting answers has it? Thankfully, NM & TD stepped up to the plate! As I recall, a 235/35/18 tire size is a match for the original 205/40/18 tire OD, but that's just too much rubber!

I assume your clearance from the strut is very close but adequate right?

I remember you working on a proper fitmentnt for a long time, so congrats for leading the way for those of us following along!

Happy Motoring,

John

More than adequate John with the more narrow JCW Pro coil overs.

I'm running KW V3 and 18x8 e50 w/ 225x40x18
There is only about 2-3 mm clearance from strut to wheel.
45 offset is probably a safe choice or finding narrower suspension setup.
