Pls recommend advanced Air Filter with factory airbox
Hi Everyone,
Just got a 09 JCW this week, try to do some upgrade, first ting want to do is the air intake. I open the air box, it is a corn air filter instead of flat one.
Any recommendation on air filter to install with factory airbox? I heard K&N doesn't fit tho.
Any other mods you would do as well? Please show your mod list.
I am putting a JCW strut brace this week.
Thank you all in advance!

Check out the Pipercross air filter here as an option. ST coil overs are a great bang for your buck coil as well. Can check them out here. Do you just plan on daily driving the car or do you plan to do any type of track/autox days? You can cruise around our catalog here for some other upgrading options. Before I touched much on my motor, I completely upgraded my suspension/bushings. Powerflex bushings are great bushings to think about. These bushings are a great alternative to factory rubber bushings, which are more prone to wear, resulting in poor tracking and handling. And of course, a good rear sway bar is a good suspension upgrade as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

I'm partial to foam filters and like the ALTA one like this http://altaperformance.com/i-1400715...cw-intake.html

dry air filter
I bought the same JCW stage 1 CAI. I'm using the cone filter that came with it because I hear that it has plenty of air flow. When I get a replacement it'll be the AMSoil which is also dry and conical. I think the one we use is AMsoil # is 3570. No way I'd use an oiled filter.

Isn't that a JCW intake? The stage 1 air box is an option/upgrade on the JCW versions. I wouldn't think the flat panel would be any better. But anyway...I'll replace mine with the AMsoil conical when the time comes.

The N14 fJCW came with a panel filter as well. The cone filter was a part of the JCW upgrade kit that could be added later.

I have an R56 S with a JCW intake air box and inside there is a cone filter but i think and heard that you can use a panel filter as well with that air box, you only have to eliminate that tube that is inside of the air box and drop in the panel but I'm not sure about that because I have never done it before. ( is going to be my weekend proyect)

I would have to say with the JCW, being a Stage 1 option it would have to be better right??? I did so much to mine at the same time...intercooler, exhaust and Manic tune. I can't say for sure. I took the advice of Way @ WMW and that's the intake he runs on his GP. He also used the dry filter that comes with it. He says the airflow is adequate and wouldn't use an oiled filter.
