Average monthly payment and different dealers.

So I'm coming up on the end of my contract for my 2010 Cooper S on the "Mini Select" Program. I went to the mini dealer and test drove and showed them my custom build JCW, that I was interested in, which was around the range of 39,000. After all the wheel and dealing, the lowest they claimed they could go was $600/month. ( I have excellent credit and my trade in was worth 10,000). $600 is practically double what I pay for my S. Is that the average monthly payment that most of you have been given or are going to pay? Or should I try a different mini dealer, as I have read each dealer works differently, also, do you think that in a couple months new "deals/promotions" may happen and I should just hold out?

How much is the balloon payment on your MINI? That will factor in when you're trading.

Actually $39000 @ 1.99 for 60 months-depending on salestax- is about $700 @ month. Are you doing Mini Select again?

Considered financing outside of Mini? Your bank/credit union? Seems steep but I don't know much on the subject.

You're going about car buying wrong if you are negotiating monthly payments. You need to negotiate the full price and get pre-approved by your bank.

Phoenix dealer is saying MSRP because vehicle is such great demand. Oh well, guess I'll wait then.

Sacramento dealer is advertising 0% APR, $1250 off Hardtops, and $1750 off 4-doors in stock. MINIUSA.COM is also offering low APR and credits for finance/lease.

MSRP only due to great demand in Phoenix?

Tempe and Scottsdale are both advertising 1.9% and no payments for 90 days. Scottsdale has 11 new vehicles marked down $500-$2000. Tempe has demonstrators for $3000 off.

Search outside your area. I drove 4 hours to get mine because the price was to high where I live.

Update
So it turns on the mini dealer I was going through doesn't do the mini select program, they claimed that it was shut down 2 years ago... I call another mini dealer and they said the other was on drugs, the mini select program is still alive and well. So now they are with in the process of seeing the best price/payments with any and all discounts. This mini dealer I'm working with now is the mini of Scottsdale, I plan to look outside my area if need be to get that right price. As far as custom builds, what is the price range most of you have built your JCW at? I want mine to be loaded, but I'm willing to sacrifice.

It sounds like you need to figure out what you can actually afford [car+gas+insurance+plate+repairs+mods], and then that'll dictate your car price ceiling.

Keep in mind that custom built doesn't give you any significant leverage for MSRP negotiations. If you "need a deal" then you're willing to take whatever has been sitting on the lot.

I bought my 2014 JCW Coupe off the lot at Mini North Scottsdale. Sticker was about $41k including a couple grand in overpriced dealer installed options (tint, Lojack, antenna, Mini window screen, etc). I got a little over $2k off which was a so so deal IMO, because I didn't want that stuff except the tint. My car also has the heated Recaros which are a $2700 option that's not available on the 2015 cars. As of a couple weeks ago they had yet to receive their first JCW. Of course there's a dealer in Tempe and Tucson now.

They have received a Rebel Green/black JCW, it's in their showroom.
