Smile Test drove and ordered a new JCW! .. should I change colors?

Ok so it seems like only the North East have the new JCWs so far. As of last week, their 28 of them that just got off the ship. I test drove one in Boston and had a blast. I currently have a Mini Coupe S and a Mini Countryman S so it was a nice adjustment. Here is my question...

I wanted to order a black w/ red roof (classic of course) but ended up ordering a Thunder grey (like the GP) w/ a red roof. Does anyone have any pics of a new JCW w/ thunder grey w/ red roof? If I adjust my order, what color would you all think I should change it too (w/ red roof of course). If anyone has any questions for me or impressions or pics they want, just ask away.

Cool, congrats!
Only you can answer that. You must like the that color to have ordered it, unless you played pin the tail in the donkey.

The thunder grey is a nice color. The red roof and assuming red mirrors, is a nice touch.

I know that's not what you want to hear, but Rebal Green with White roof is the best combo IMO.

I own an F56 S in TGM. I had doubts about it. I was going to wrap my roof in red. I have red stripes.
I love the color and it gets better every day....had it a year! :-)
Go with your gut.....you will be more than happy.

Thank you all for your replies! And yes Rebel Green w/ white roof would look pretty sweet. I just can't jump to the JCW tier and not get a red roof lol.

Look in your closet, what color predominates? Possibly your favorite, so use that one if available. My color is purple, my Mini is grey - I don't really care all that much as long as it isn't white or pink.

Mine's Eclipse Grey, which is maybe a little darker than Thunder Grey, with a red roof/mirror caps and I love it. Black seats and all the interior trim is red, the secret compartment row, the padded stuff row, the padded door arm rests, and the oval door plastic thingy. And my dominant closet colors are blue (shirts, probably 2 dozen RLP versions) and khaki pants (about a dozen in different shades). My 2007 MCS was "Sparkling Silver", Mini's version of khaki.

I love the Thunder Grey with Red roof. I'd add the Red sport stripes, Black stripes on the roof. For the interior the Red accent color line with the JCW floor mats really pop.

I think you should stick with the color you ordered. It's a great color combination.

I think the Thunder Grey looks great with the red roof. Check out this article over at Motoringfile for a photo:

Yea the only thing I'm debating is should I also get the carbon scoop or use that money / criedt to get other gear.. In sure it will look great but I haven't seen any pics of one on a thunder grey yet.

In my personal opinion, wait on the CF scoop - you can always do that later if you get to wanting a change.

Yeah wait. The CF stuff is really pricey and underwhelming in person IMO. I picked a very cool British flag red/white/blue side scuttle pair for $90 last week. Easy to install looks excellent. I realize yours is different to install but not that hard.

fair enough guys.. I'll hold off on the CF.. may not even need it .. I'll just go w/ the black trim and few other options and maybe the Mini Bike for the hell of it lol.

Thunder Grey with Red Roof

Hi,

I'm a GP2 owner and I'm wondering if I should order the F56 JCW same as GP2 Thunder grey Color. Just happens that one of head our club member Mr. John McLauchian has took a test drive in the new F56 JCW in the Thunder grey. He parked it side by side with his GP.

It looked really nice and going to place an order in red roof with Thunder grey.

PS: Picture was taken from GP owner club Mr. John McLauchian's test drive thread. Thanks John

Take a look at that JCW only green color that was used on the WC50 edition a few years back. I started a thread about it on this forum with a picture. Very cool color.

Bigallen hows it going? I'm glad to see GP owners are looking at the new model and want to stick with the thunder grey. For me I picked thunder grey because it's up until last year only GPs had the color and I figured everyone would just go with the classic black / red. Believe it or not there are a lot of ppl on this form that have also ordered the Thunder grey red combo. I think even the dealers didn't realize that that combo was going to be so hot.. I'll say this I have seen a few color combos in person and have pics for the chilli red/ pepper white and black with red if you want to see more options. I'm going to post on the form to see what everyone else has picked so far.
