Everything I have read says that due to the magic of aerodynamics it actually reduces underbonnet temperatures by managing airflow better. I know what you mean about proximity though, but there's a heat shield on there and at least on my Roadster I haven't seen any effects on the belly pan.

Did you notice a cleaner bay...

Thanks for the update.

Hello,
The pan just has to be dropped for an oil change, it very light in weight. Much like the JCW GP 2 Belly pan kit.
Also there are little plastic washers on the back of the speed screws so when you undo they , they say with the tray, and don't fall to the ground.
We include all the additional hardware ( which does not come with just the pan ) so all you do is hold it in the middle and with a quick turn 1/2 of the phillips head screw , it comes out. You can see the speed screw on the corners of the pan.
Countryman / Paceman JCW Belly Pan Kit for the ALL4 and the JCW Countryman for the US , which was not a stock item. 51759809304KT 51759809304

Not hard for oil change.
Thanks and hope that helps.

They were much cheaper when we found them before (only stock on euro models), then MINI caught on to what we were doing as its a mod in the US and they raised the prices dramatically. Happened the same way with the GP2 belly pan, we were like the first people in the world to figure out it would fit all the normal R55-R59 cars and what hardware was actually needed, then about 8 months later the price went way up.

whaaah... mine wont fit
the clips for number 1 and 2 are too small and just fall into the hole. the same clip is used for 3 and 4. my original little "pully cover" was missing the clips it was supposed to go into as well, held on by one speed screw. either way, the belly pan i have(which i bought off the forum) is either old and heat warped, or the whole front end of my car is tweaked (which wouldn't surprise at this point...) disappointing really, i wanted the extra protection when i lowed the car. but my previous attempt to lower the car didn't go well either....maybe this is all a sign....

Yep, you need to have the clips with our kit. From the factory, only some of the clips are there and we have a kit with the skid plate that includes those. PM me with a picture of what you are missing and i can help.

Its not hard to do oil changes with it my Gp2 pan you just hold in the centerand a quick couple turns and its off.
Did you just get the pan for your countryman, if you got the kit es2678451, then you got the whole kit with the needed extra clips.

figured out how i was putting the clips in wrong on position 1 and 2. i was trying to go into the rectangle hole left-right instead it needs to go front to back. even figuring that out and fixing a clip that was too bent, the pan wouldnt stay on, by either poping the clips out when locking or wouldnt lock at all. its just not for me, that's all.

Thats weird, it should work. Take pics and I can help you.
