New to this forum. Was a registry of 2011s ever created? If not. I'll just impose here:
2011 JCW Midnight Black Metallic, red roof. Bought last week from second owner @60,200 miles. Timing chain and high pressure fuel pump done by him within last 10,000 miles. Just getting used to it, but I can already say that it is the most agile and responsive car I've ever owned -- and I have an '06 Porsche 911 in the garage! PO is a confirmed car guy, which helped clinch the sale. He has a beautiful '67 Corvette. arguably the best year 'Vette ever, and we found out that we were both at Watkins Glen in 1970 when Emerson Fittipaldi won his first F1 race.
BTW, my second Mini. First was an '04 R53 S, owned briefly a couple of years ago after I cashed out my '99 BMW M Coupe to afford a 30th anniversary diamond for my wife. Miss the Clown Shoe, but a 997.1 Porsche and an R56 JCW are ample compensation.

I have not searched recently, but offhand I don't remember a 2011 thread.
I lived in Corning from '92 until 2016. Been to WGI many, many times: Indy car, sports cars, vintage and NASCAR. However, after about 5 years I gave up on NASCAR. TOO MANY PEOPLE!!!
In the Village of Watkins Glen is the International Motor Racing Research Center. They used to open the building and allow a group of diehards (myself included!) to watch the early Sunday morning F-1 races. It was pretty cool as there were a few who grew up in the Village and remembered the old days. I lived 17 miles away and would often ride my bicycle to the Center. My contemporaries just couldn't believe that I did that!!
One year one of the early vintage weekends coincided with the British GP weekend. Had a big crowd that time of maybe 40 people. I sat between Oscar Koveleski, a driver and owner during the original Can-Am series, and Tony Adamowicz, who was the '69 F-5000 champion and also competed in sports cars including LeMans, the Trans-Am series and partnered Don Devendorf and later Elliot Forbes-Robinson in the first iterations of the Nissan ZX-T GTP car. Oscar, Tony and a PR guy, Brad Niemcek, founded the Polish Racing Drivers Association. I still have the membership card that was given to me by Oscar. And no, I'm not Polish!

Mine is a 2013 without a sunroof. People tend to react to it like a Bill Murray sighting. Also, the heat shield you inquired about in another thread is still available.
