2004 JCW Mini - performance parts
I have a 2004 JCW mini and I'm wanting to make it quicker than what it is and I also want it to pull a bit stronger. However, I'm new to Mini's and do not know much about them. Which parts for the money will best upgrade the performance of the car? Check out my garage to see a picture of the car if you'd like. Thank you

- Since you have a JCW you already have a 12% supercharger pulley so it is probably not worth changing to a 15 or 17%. Depending on the miles on your car you might want to think about a 2% ATI crank pulley to gain a little boost and replace the failure prone stock pulley.
- Exhaust is also a popular mod and gains a little HP but I think of it as more of a sound mod that adds driving enjoyment but not much HP.
- Since your car is an 2004 it might not have the JCW intake box so you might want to think about a aftermarket intake but again that is a small HP gain.
- A custom ECU tune will provide a HP and Torque increase. But get the tune after any engine mods you decide on.
Since you have a JCW car, I would first suggest suspension/brake mods rather than engine mods. Front camber plates, lowering springs, and larger rear sway bar are great mods. Maybe wheels/tires depending on what is on your car.
I also like spending money on track-days (HPDE) and Auto-X to learn how to drive the car better.

A 2004 jcw has the 200hp jcw kit...starting in 2005 the kit became the jcw210 kit...had a jcw intake and jcw380 injectors for a bit more fuel....and an ecu flash.
Imo, get a 17%, bigger injectors, and a tune. You will love it. For a bit more $$ you could do a cam, but you said just a bit quicker.....that would create a near monster mini!

I have an early 2004 JCW so I did not have the injectors or the intake. I have since added 380cc injectors and a Dinan CAI which I feel is comparable to the JCW CAI. I have also added a 15% pulley and a ATI damper and a Mynes V2 header. The JCW catback is a excellent product and I feel no change is needed there. I am happy with the performance I have at this point but am going to fine tune it with a RMW street cam and custom tune which I believe will add at minimum another 5-10HP easily.

A 17% pulley will be the best bang for the buck, but if you want to keep it a JCW pulley the 2% ATI damper is a good idea.
Then I would look a new header like the stratmosphere header.
The other biggest bang for the buck would be an Hsport sway bar.
