I am about to replace my A/C Compressor and will be replacing the drive belt at that time for the first time in my ownership. The JCW has an 11.3% reduction pulley and calls for a 6PK 1374 belt.

I want to put in a Goodyear Gatorback belt and there are two lengths I can go with as they don't have one that matches the factory 1374mm length.

Gatorback 4060537=53.74"/1365mm
Gatorback 4060539=54"/1371.6mm

I know most on here use the 4060537 for the bigger aftermarket reduction pulleys. Would the 4060537 be to short and put to much tightness on the tensioner and pulleys? I thought if it would not be too short it would give me some extra length and belt life as the belt stretches over time gradually getting to 1374mm.

Is any one using this shorter belt on their JCW or should I use the 4060539 to more closely match the factory size belt? I would appreciate learning from others experience here.

I know this does not answer your question but wanted to reply since I saw no one else had replied yet. I have always used the stock size JCW belt.

 

Would 9mm shorter be to short and to tight on the tensioner, drive, and accessory pulleys then?

Use the Gatorback 4060539=54"/1371.6mm

3mm shorter is great, anything else is too hard to mount. Don't ever go longer.
